Websites

For those of you, mainly newbies who ask for feedback on sites you've created, to save the same points being made in return, I've listed below key things you need to consider when setting up a site! Once you've done these, feel free to come and ask for further fedback!
  • Have a link back to exceem
  • Easy to read font
  • Clickable referral links disguised behind pictures
  • Separate pages for offers, sites to do, how it works, general intro, contact page
  • Have a lighter background so the text stands out more
  • Don't talk about cancelling offers
  • Go into some detail on the types of offers available to entice different people ie betting, insurance, free offers, and generally how much you pay/ deposit etc
  • Mention about same IP addresses, can't complete an offer more than once etc
  • have an easy to remember site address
  • Have a home page giving background to the freebie idea convincing them its not a scam

If anyone can think of anything else, let me know, and I'll add it to the list!

Re: Websites

Might want to mention a little SEO either that or focus on how easy it is for the customer to do.

Re: Websites

It actually means "Search engine optimization" which is what webmaster use to get there sites ranked high within the search engines.

Just a small example of this, if I searched for "Free Xbox 360" then there would be many sites competing for the top spot in search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN.

If you make your site SEO friendly then these search engines will love you more then the average joe who whips up a site... Omg! I am rambling on! I shall leave it at that

Again, I will be floating around the boards (not the website review boards though) and will offer SEO advice where possible.

Im a full time Website usability and search engine optimisation expert and work on some big national websites. Fairly confident in saying there is nothing I dont know about SEO.

Seobook.com is a good place to start, although it only really explains the basics. Theres a lot more than can be done than just that

Dont expect to learn SEO overnight, or for it to have any affect on your sites instantly. Its a long term solution

Re: Websites

adwords campaign offers no long term value other than quick traffic and brand awareness

One tip, look at the source code for your site, and look at mine

Re: Websites

Adwords campaings have different value for different things, the best example is I own a small shop that sells a product, I setup a adwords campaign, and by using tracking technology I can see how many of the people who click the advert go on to purchase a product. Then I can (or not) see that spending say £100 on 500 clicks has generated me a extra 300 sales of a £100 product. (those figures were made up on the fly, not real life figures but explain the point I hope!)

But there is alot more to adwords than that example! for the sake of whats important to eXceem you have 2 options, in which I'll spend a bit more time writing a detailed reply and wack it in eXtra

Done that, lots of nice code that I don't understand. Now what?

Not sure where I am going wrong but it ranks ok in Google for "free iphone".
