Newbie Advice


Hi all, i'm brand new to this free gift stuff and to be honest I just want a PS3 right now. I have a few questions and hopefully someone here can give me some advice.

I signed up to nextgen giveaway on the 27th of April and on the same day signed up to lovefilm's trial period through the link. Now on the offers page it says to me "you have successfully completed your offer"

but on the account status page it tells me "Offer Pending! Your offer completion has yet to be confirmed by LOVEFiLM. This can take up to 10 business days"

It's been 14 days yet and still it says pending. Did I do something wrong?

Secondly I would just like a quick clarification of what exactly you have to do with lovefilm for your referral to go green on the site. Initially I signed up and didn't take out any dvds and cancelled my account on the 13th day since on the nextgen site it told me I had successfully completed my offer. Then someone told me I need to at least order one dvd. So now I have reactivated my account at the charge of £4.99 and have two titles in my rental list. Is it necessary for you to take out a dvd from them in order for the offer to be complete or can I just sign up and cancel without ordering anything?

def need to sign up and get 1 or more (i think) dvds posted out..

really should be a job for support thou so you might want to open a support ticket as only really the site can advised on their offers.. most sites have the same offers but how 1 site deals with can differ.. hope that helps..

So you didn't recieve any DVD's from them and cancelled your LOVEFiLM account? Uh oh! You might have problems later on when you manage to get the required number of refs and when you hit the verify button. Looks like to me that your offer is likely to get reversed (e.g back to have not completed own offer). Like cd02 said, send a support ticket to them and and see what they say. You can always do another offer later. But see what they say first!

LoL, i've got one referral pending and I made sure he ordered at least one DVD. The only thing now is what will happen of the offer I 'completed' myself. I've been trying to e-mail a support ticket for two days now but everytime I hit "create" I get the "Connection was Reset by the Server" Mozilla page. It never gets through for some reason. Are they blocking support questions?

Anyway, if I do go ahead and decided to complete the easyfilm offer, will that count towards completing my own offer?

I had that problem with IE7 and mozilla. Looks like to me that your firewall is preventing access for some reason. The easiest solution is to use a another computer and send a support ticket from there. Thats what I did. I had to use my local internet cafe just to send and reply to the tickets. lol!. Anyway about your question, yeah it will count towards completing your own offer but I would wait and send a support ticket first to clear a few things up first. Send a ticket to them and see what they say. Better to let them know before hand to prevent problems later on.
