![]() ![]() ![]() | Need guitar recommendationAny guitarists among you? I've been playing for years but don't know much about the brands or quality or anything just the music lol Im looking to replace my trusty 3/4 size acoustic which i bought many years ago for £24 from a bargain store but have served me beautifully. Tis a sad occassion, but out with the old and in with the new Given how most 3/4 size acoustics are sold to kids lol, are there any quality brands that make them in this size and where might i look? I'm not wanting to spend over £100 Btw i play with nylons - classical/flamenco guitars are my bag baby!! I don't plug in so no need for electro-acoustics either. Thanks all

![]() | Hi There, I myself play guitar sometimes. I suggest you to step up from 3/4 to full size. If you are anything above 4 ft 5 inch then Jumbo (bigger one, Grand Auditorium in Taylor's language) would suit you because i believe Jumbos or grand size guitars give you more "musical" sound with good bass and balanced treble and mid range. For 100 GBP, i recommend you Yamaha. Their models FG700S and FG730S are amazing !. They might cost you a bit more but you will not get disappointed at all. You can also try Alvarez and Takamine but my suggestion would be to go to the nearby music shop and try out some guitars. No matter what the sellers say, just follow your instinct and go ahead with the one you like most. |

I think if you're not willing to spend over £100 you're going to have to not be very picky and just take what you can get. I love Art and Lutherie guitars which are Canadian. They have a guitar range called the Amis which is a smaller scale folk guitar body. The strings aren't nylon though and it's a bit out of your price range. Do you only play classical and flamenco? EDIT: Just looked and A&L do make a nylon string guitar. I strongly recommend them, I recently bought an acoustic after visiting 4/5 shops and trying out every acoustic I could find. In my experience the Japanese and Chinese made acoustics didn't have as nice a tone (not as round/full) as the Canadian made.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks for the replies. I should have probably made myself clear but Im not at all interested in sound quality. Im the only person who hears it anyway lol, and my hearing isn't brilliant and subject to our own self-perceptions too, just like us all lol So yes I want a 3/4 size one but I'd prefer one which will last more than a decade - my last one was a budget-store piece of cr@p for £24 but its always been my favourite. Nobody would ever dream of performing with it (lol except perhaps me with certain songs as I know what it likes it u get me lol) So just curious really as 3/4 size aint really popular are they? But it's an absolute must unfortunately, regardless of how it sounds Thanks for link and suggestions guys I like to take the chords of any and all songs I like and see if I can play them in that kind of style, so in a way yes. I never used a pick either I use my fingers and my intuition so every time i play it sounds different - nobody would pay to see me but its so much fun playing that way imo
