As if having a record number of contestants and fines for bad behaviour wasn’t thrilling enough, we’ve discovered that producers are planning to put a celebrity in the house. Although bosses are staying tight-lipped until the first episode, it’s believed that the success of bringing “nobody” Chantelle into Celebrity Big Brother has inspired them to turn the tables, and enlist a star name for this summer’s series. According to Heat magazine, the idea has been in development for several months, and the celeb in question has already been picked. It was just one of the potential concepts that was bandied around by programme makers – others included bringing back Makosi and Anthony from last year’s show to head-up rival teams, and inviting Celebrity BB winner Chantelle to return. And there’s yet another exciting twist: Big Brother is set to break its own cardinal rule - by allowing housemates to discuss nominations for the first time. Contestants will also be encouraged to forge secret alliances to maximise bitching and back-stabbing. “The bigwigs know viewers like a bad guy on the show. This year, every contestant will have to be a bad guy to survive,” a source revealed. “Letting the contestants discuss nominations is a sure-fire way to get the blood boiling.” The theme of the series, which starts on May 18, is “survival” and the nomination process will be changed to stop housemates sitting on the fence in arguments to try and remain popular. Instead, the weekly task will determine who is Head of House. They then decide the nominations and openly discuss who they want out. Sounds like a recipe for total and utter carnage. Yippee! I've not watched it since the second series - and that was annoying because they kept on cutting out the sound when the housemates started discussing anything potentially litigious... got fed up with hearing 1 minute of conversation out of 5... I might give this a chance if I'm channel hopping when it's on  Cheers, Tez. |
