ye, that must've been painful if garcia couldn't survive the last couple of seconds.

Also, i think hardy got exposed last night. I've never been impressed with him, but the ufc does a damn good job at convincing you otherwise. He got a title shot after winning a decision over mike swick, which shouldn't lead to a title shot, and has lost 3 in a row, decisively.
I like dan hardy, I don't think they'll cut him cause he's british and popular but surely they can't keep him around too long.

The guy Hardy was fighting looked like he was a weight class above him lol. Was desperately hoping he'd get one of those million Kimura's he tried or catch with a triangle choke but didn't happen. He needs to get a win soon!

ye, johnsone's massive. But he's nothing special. Coming off a year out, hardy should've at least done a bit better.

It'd be nice to have seen him win, but he had no real chance once he was on his back

I think they should do johnsone vs alves next, both coming off their 1st win after a loss and fairly long layoff

Daley v Diaz what a FIGHT could have went either way. Not the most technical fight, never seen so many punches thrown in a fight. Only just remembered it was on too, almost missed it!

Ha, i nearly missed it too. Went out last night and got home just in time to the see the jardine decision, then i was organising drunken snacks and missed the melendez fight.

Ye, some fight. Was shocked when daley went down, i get the feeling he didn't think diaz could hit as hard

Daley has no ground game at all either... he had him rocked a couple of times and could have taken his back a couple of times too but when he was down didn't know what to do. He needs to mix it up a bit. Could have went either way though, was hoping Daley would catch him right on the chin lol.

I love how Melendez called out the UFC Lightweight Champ. I can't wait to see some merger match ups. I guess Shields v.s St.Pierre is sort of a Strikeforce v.s UFC champion match up. Who you guys got for that fight?

Shields doesn't have a hope imo... GSP will be too good for him. When Shields fought Daley a couple of years ago he couldn't trade with him standing up, only beat him when it went to the ground. GSP is even better standing up and his ground game is just too good. Will KO or submit him in the 1st round.

Needs to move up a weight and make the Silva fight happen once he wins... what a fight that would be!!

Yea man, would be a sick fight. If Sonnen gave Silva trouble, just imagine what GSP would do. I still think Sonnen beats him if they ever get a rematch though. Too bad its been confirmed that Silva is fighting Okami which rules out a GSP v.s Silva superfight for now.

Sonnen got banned for a year after that fight though for testing positive for steroids. Plus Silva didn't look in great shape and was carrying an injury. Never been so happy watching the UFC when Silva pulled off that triangle submission out of no where!

GSP would definitely be his most difficult fight to date, wouldn't like to call it. Is gonna happen sooner or later hopefully!

Haha, I don't buy that Silva was hurt crap. Although Sonnen was using steroids so who knows. I still would love to see a rematch between the two both at %100 and neither of them using any performance enhancers.

You think? I think GSP wins, but not in the 1st round. I reckon decision.

I can't see GSP getting a KO, he's too cautious. Also, shields took a hard hard hit from Henderson at MW and went on to win. Henderson can hit way harder than GSP is likely to (especially a WW). As for a submission he'd be madto go to the ground with sheilds. I can see this playing out really similar to the Koscheck fight.

I'd love to see the GSP vs Silva fight, I think it should be catch-weight tho. If it was I think I'd take GSP but a tough one to call. At MW I think Silva would be too big and GSP would slow down a bit with that additional mass so Silva would take it.

If the fight was at MW, i think GSP should have to have at least one fight to see how the new weight is. GSP sonnen would be interesting, and the winner would be a good match/rematch.

Oh, does anyone watch bellator? I'd heard of it but never bothered following. I started watching this season and it's been really good.

Yea, I am a fan of Ben Askren. I have been following him since he was wrestling in college. He is my inspiration in fighting because I want to be able to implement my wrestling as well as he does.

do you train MMA? I've been training muay thai for about 2 yrs but broke my foot and haven't been able to train since november. Gonna go back on wed and see how it goes.

I've not watched last nights yet, I've not been able to find it anywhere and don't want too search too much cause you end up finding all of the results.

Yup, only been training for 3 weeks now but my coaches tell me my wrestling is good enough that I have a head start on a lot of people. Stand Up game is definitely my weakest part.

That's kl. I think with the strength and fitness that comes with wrestling, you should get used to the stand up fairly quick.

I'm hoping to get into MMA training after a while, but the gym I want to train at only let you train MMA when if you are already good at muay thai/boxing and wrestling/BJJ.

I want to start wrestling during summer, but I don't think my foot's strong enough to take the force of a sprawl yet. We'll see.
