If you could pick 5 songs from your childhood (anything you listened to back in the day!), what would they be?

Blamanche - Living on the Ceiling.
Youtube

Visgae - Fade to grey.
Youtube

Queen - Under Pressure.
Youtube

David Bowie - Star man.
Youtube

The Jam - Town Called Malice.

Seal and Adamski - Killer
YouTube - Adamski & Seal - Killer

Pavarotti- Nessum Dorma
YouTube - Pavarotti "nessun dorma"

I can't think of any more at the moment but these are the two I would say stand out most.

When I was about 4 or 5 I wouldn't go to sleep without Nessum Dorma being played so I could hear it in bed.

RATM - Guerilla Radio (it was on Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2, that game was awesome)

Muse - Hate this and I'll love you

Blur - End of a Century

Crowded House - Don't dream it's all over

RHCP - Around the World

all of these minus RATM from CDs my parents either bought me or had themselves

Was never keen on Solidarity. I found the whole sound of the band changed for a period around the time of this and it seemed too tame, too manufactured and too polished.
Give me the '2 Million Voices' era any day.

And if I can have a bonus track i'd also go with a Stiff Little Fingers track in the flavour of At The Edge

lol, "at the edge" to me gives me a similar opinion to the one you have about "solidarity"

it sounded a bit commercial. I prefer the Inflammable Material sound.

Its funny how diverse bands can actually sound...

My mum used to be friends with Arturo Bassick from 999!!

here a few that bring back memories from my youth

1)YouTube - Stevie Wonder - Master Blaster (Jammin')

2)YouTube - AC/DC - Whole Lotta Rosie

3)YouTube - Carpenters - Yesterday Once More

4)YouTube - Paul McCartney- Band on the Run

5)YouTube - Dead kennedys - Stealing peoples mail

some of these my parents and my uncle who lived near us listened to, others I bought myself, I'm sure you can work out which is which

edit, we've discussed stiff little fingers before, and I pretty much love most of their stuff tbh, seen them at the barrowlands they were excellent live

Stiff Little Fingers

Strongly considering it...
Won't be as explosive as yesteryear mainly because of the average age of the crowd (matured a bit...) but a trip down memory lane none the less

no I think that album was recorded in '95, I'm sure the gigs I saw were in late 80's early 90's, and I'm sure Bruce Foxton was on bass in at least 1 of the gigs
@cruelworld, the age of the crowd won't take anything away from the atmosphere and the performance, believe me, still a quality gig
