Blu-Ray Surround Sound

Hi guys, need a bit of help. I got my PS3 Slim from Freebiejeebies a couple of months ago but I want to know how to get it to play through my surround sound. It's currently connected through the DVD player. So how do I connect it to my PS3 Slim so that it has surround sound for CoD or any blu-rays?

Thanks guys!

is your dvd player a dvd/surround ..... if so then you may struggle as most of these only play surround through the attached dvd player.

If however it operates as a standalone amp then you could connect your ps3 direct to the tv via hdmi and then connect an optical cable from the ps3 to the amp then go into the ps3 audio settings and select audio to come through the optical connection.

if you post the model number of the dvd/surround that you are using i will be able to tell you for sure.

I'm running a Panasonic BT200 system. Like Grabrail suggested, I run everything through the TV, then connect the TV to the surround sound via the red and white cables (Aux in on the surround sound).

Cheers for everyone's help, after a good bit of hoking about I managed to get the Wii, PS3, DVD player and TV to come through the surround sound.

Blu-ray and gaming is going to be awesome!
