It's weird to hear all the praise for the film, I am very very accomadating to films, and very rarely watch one that I don't like, but I really thought Paranormal Activity was rubbish. It made me jump twice, and the rest of it kind of bored me. Interesting to hear about the alternative endings though. See spoiler for mine:

I just saw One Flew Over The Cuckoos nest last night, it was fantastic!

The original Night of the Living Dead was brilliant when I watched it, and 28 Days Later is one of my all time favourite films. Saw I I liked a lot but somehow it has lost its appeal a bit.

Anyone have any horror, particularly zombie movies, that they recommend?

The ending in your spoiler is the one that Spielberg wrote, which is the one in the new release. Loved the ending personally, was the best part of the film.

As far as I know there is the 'original' police ending, the suicide ending and the OMG I wanna eat the camera ending.

All the alternates should be on the DVD though.

I've been told it's the subtlety that's the scariest thing, and the simplicity!

I think I'll wait until I'm in a well lit room during the day with my girlfriend... I'm not good at scary films!

Watched it a while ago and I thought it was pretty good work EVEN THOUGH they had such a small budget for the movie. Wikipedia article on it is a pretty interesting read....

I watched Speilbergs one. I thought it was an on edge, gradual build up to the ending. But it was kinda predictable, so it was no twist for me!

Tbh I didn't think it was that scary. I guess because I knew how low-budget it was, I knew there wouldn't be any high-tech scary special effects and stuff. If they'd actually showed ghostly figures and stuff I probably would have been more freaked out!
But I was glued to the screen, so it was successful on that part!
Better than Blair-Witch anyway =D
