RE: 500 Members!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi there,

Since practically everyone on this forum has or is after an iPod, I figure we all must like music, right? And yet there is so little chat about it! I was wondering if anyone's been to any good gigs recently, or what was the best gig you've ever been to?

I'll start - I went to Glastonbury in the summer and had a great time after the mud started to dry out a bit (anyone else there?) Of all the people I saw, I thought Kasabian were the best live. I hadn't thought much of them before but thier attitude and charisma on stage blew us all away!

My friends went to see the Pixies this week and apparently they were awsome, I hear they were great at the Reading/Leeds festival too!

I was also very very lucky to see the lovely Kylie on her greatest hits tour before she was taken ill. I've loved her since I was a kid and went with a bunch of like-minded girls so it was amazing!

Anyone else been to these? Seen anyone great lately? Let us all know what we should be listening to on our iPods here!

Oooh, I love the Chilis! I saw them live too, and while they were good they weren't quite what I'd hoped. I'd have loved to see them a few years ago instead. The best song all night was "Give it away" which they closed with.

Lementos - you make me feel old, I was at Uni when Steps first came on the scene! They were meant to be good live though, they even won a Brit for best live act!

RE: Legal Song Downloads

The first gig I went to see was Take That in the early 90's- were soooo good though!

Have a joint two best ones though- went to see Tom Jones think it was greatest hits tour in 2000, then went to see Bryan Adams at the M.E.N last year both were fantastic concerts!

RE: need greens for cashz4free

Take That were my absolute favourite - I went to all their gigs and followed them around the country. I had my entire bedroom covered in thier posters, even the ceiling! Now they really knew how to put on a show, they were brilliant. I have to say, Robbie still is too, I went to that amazing Knebworth gig a couple of years ago.

Not seen the others though, although I used to have that Bryan Adams album with the Robin Hood song on tape, before the hi-tech days of CDs!

Take That were fantastic! Would loved to hve seen Robbie at Knebworth! One of my friends went and said it was brilliant, I didn't know anything about it though until about 2 weeks before it was about to happen so couldn't get tickets!

The Bryan Adams "Robin Hood" song is "Everything I do I do it for you"! Used to play that all the time at the school discos! I've got that on tape as well- his Waking up the Neighbours one, and his greatest hits!

I've signed up to Robbie's site. It's worth it - they don't spam you too much. Anyway, the site members snapped up all the tickets as they got them a day early! Even if there's no pre-sale, they send you info if tickets are ever released. Just sign up at www.robbiewilliams.com and you'll never miss out again!

No, it's not the fan club (which I'm sure costs) it's just for access to certain areas of the site and to be on the mailing list. So it's all free!

RE: Green

I've been to 3 gigs and they were all great Britney Spears (though she would've been better if she sang more than 2 songs live), GreenDay and KT Tunstall (who I definately recommend, she's an amazing singer)

RE: Best gigs?

Britney would be great, I don't think I'd care much about the live singing, when I've seen clips of her gigs on TV it seems she puts on a great show. Even the best of singers would be hard pushed not to sound like a strangled monkey whilst flipping about the way she does!

Was anyone else at Glastonbury? If so (or even if you saw it on the telly!) who did you think was good?

Did anyone get to Live 8? I would have loooooved to go but my friend was getting married that day so there was no chance!

I entered the competition for tickets for Live8, but didn't manage to get any! Were going to go to the London Hyde Park one if we had, then thought about going to watch it in Leeds centre- had a big screen there but people were queueing from about 3-4 hours before it started, so decided not to bother!

RE: Only USA??

Amanda, I went to Glastonbury too! where were you camped? we were up in Pennards hill, near the stone cicle-ish but up on the hill so we didn't get drowned, but saw plenty of folks who did . it was fantastic. my first time to glasto (14th or so festival though!) i just can't wait to get back there in 2007, the atmosphere is just so immense. although 12 hours on a coach from glasgow was torture!!!
best act this year would have to be Basement Jaxx, although Chaz and Dave put on a pretty good show!
i don't think i could narrow it down to best gig ever, Blur at Reading about 3 years ago, maybe, super furry animals at the barrowlands, hmm that's a hard question!
first gig ever, I was 9 and it was new Kids on the Block at the Gmex in Manchester!! and i saw Justin Timberlake a few years back, that as pretty good, i took my sister for her b'day, and was surprised at how good it was.
