I don't understand!

I was walking past ladbrokes this morning and saw a sign in the window:

4:1 on Netherlands to win. Bet £10 and win £210!

Now I maybe an accountant and therefore terrible at Maths... But even I can work out that 4:1 on £10 is £40!

Or am I completely wrong?! (bareing in mind I never gamble!) How does that work?!

Was gunna go in and place a bet too, but couldn't because it wasn't open for another half hr this morning, gutted now!

Was it one of those match odd's posters and you were actually betting on Netherlands to win 4-1?

Think so... Was a big poster where the numbers and team names could be changed.

99% sure it was for Netherlands to win at 4:1 odds (rather than 4 goals to 1!)

Holland would have been favourites for the match so wouldn't have been 4:1, they would more likely be less than evens.

This was at 815 this morning (they opened at 830) so maybe they hadn't changed it yet? I mean that was what I definitely saw, otherwise I wouldn't have been so keen to try the door to find out it was locked!

Anyone know what odds I should look at for the game tonight? I'm going through town again later so passing ladbrokes an could do with an easy win!

Went back and I think that was the case! Oops!

Did a few little bets though: Germany and Brazil to win the world cup and Spain and Uruguay to win their next games!

Won't win much, but hoping their guaranteed!
