Just got this email from freepay so thats good news (for me anyway)

Our records indicate that you have ordered the Canon IXUS 750 Camera. Regrettably, we are unable to locate this product from any of our trusted fulfillment partners. We intend on replacing your order with the new Canon IXUS 800 which is similar in price and specifications and is more readily available. We would like to give you the opportunity to accept this change or replace your order for one of our other Digital Cameras.

Once we receive confirmation, we will ship out your product immediately. Please confirm by replying to this email.

I would prefer the 750 but I ave agreed to the 800.

ask them for vouchers for a high street store

whats the difference in price compared to a cannon eos 350d (i have the film based eos350 and its a good piece of kit)

I havnt got the email, you must be stv i guess (im only processing). So i will have to wait to be told that my camera is not available then accept the change.

The spec is only slightly different (6mp instead of 7.1mp and 4x instead of 3x optical zoom - so a little improvement...) Worth Â£244, but i think u should tell them that the other one is available from a amazon seller (see if they will pay the Â£350 price tag!)

So the higher number doesn't mean a better camera? That's so annoying... I replied saying it was OK but maybe I should have asked for something to go with it as well. Grrr...

EDIT: Just replied again saying I want the original camera and giving them 3 different websites where they can get it... pixmania and dixons have it in stock and pretty cheap! It's no more than the iPod they sent me for 5 refs, so I reckon for 10 refs we have the right to be a bit more demanding.

It seems to vary but I think it was under Â£210 on pixmania and Â£216 on dixons if I remember rightly? Dixons is the same group as Currys and Jessops so I think that would be it. Check their website!

Im also shipped...and never received the email! I requested the 750...as long as i get that or the 800 im not bothered!

It says out for delivery so i may get it today!

I got the Ixus 700 last September. Came from Amazon.

Still got the invoice that shows they paid Â£296 for it. Make sure you keep the invoice you get because I have had to have the camera repaired as the lens shutter kept jamming and pictures coming out blurred.

Had it fixed under warranty so no problem.

I did indeed get the Ixus 800 and it's fantastic. I did indeed get the invoice with it so can have it sorted if anything goes wrong - it seems they paid in Euros for some odd reason despite being in America and it coming from Amazon.co.uk! It was something around the Â£230-Â£240 mark, can't remember exactly. Apparently the 800 has better quality components despite having a few less megapixels, so I'm happy with that.
