ok so quite a few people have sent their approval forms via recorded delivery, what is the last message royalmail.com give you? as at the moment all i get is

"Your item, posted on 11/04/06 with reference RI650233931GB has been passed to the overseas postal service for delivery in UNITED STATES OF AMERICA."

Seeing as it was sent on the 11th it should have reached their by now especially as it was recorded which is supposedly faster than standard air mail.

i dont see the point of the reference code that the royal mail gave me for tracking my letter.

all its been saying for a week is "the letter is with the us postal service for delivery"

im guessing its not going to change to say delivered?

has anyone else's letter been confirmed to have been delivered?

Once a package gets to the US from Royal Mail it will not be tracked beyond the airport. Royal Mail do not operate in the US - I guess the only way to make sure it gets there is to use an international courier, UPS or FedEx.

Anyone know how much it costs to courier a letter to the US?

I should think i would cost abit more, it would get there even quicker then royal mail but would cost double i would think. Good job i did notpay 4 quid recorded seeing that it does not work in US

this isnt entirely true, its faster than standard air mail, and it does get posted, miles' form was sent recorded.

I think its a bit misleading that royal mail offer an international recorded delivery service - one would assume that you would get proofof delivery - what on earth arewe paying £4 for then? I might send them an email.

For the £4 its getting there faster and it can be tracked to the US airport, if there is a problem then u can track it and find out why or send a new one if need be. The guy at the post office said the standard air mail gets there about the same time as the recorded does, like a 1 day difference maybe.

Royal mail only operate in UK, like spiked said if you send my a international courier you can track it all around the world.
