It took me about 2 months from first signing up to Freepay to getting my iPod. Getting 5 greens (the bit that you've got 90 days to do) took me about a month.

It looks to me like they've elected to use the form because they're doing instant crediting of greens. It can take up to 2 months for a freebie site to be paid for the offers that have been completed for users, this way they get users completing even quicker (because their valid greens go green immediately) but put the delay into the form so they're not sending out items without having been paid by the advertisers first.

It's such an obvious give with one hand take away with the other that I'm surprised there's such a backlash.

In summary it looks like:
(1) Your yellows that have completed offers will go green quicker
(2) You have to send a form off to legally state (and sign) that you're not fraudulent so that if you are found to be fraudulent after you've received your item you can be legally required to compensate Freepay and return your item (or the cost of it)
(3) The form puts in the delay that the instant greens removed so nobody's worse off from a time perspective overall.

As danielc from Eurogiveaways (I think it was him anyway) pointed out earlier in this thread there are alternatives to Freepay and I can guarantee that items4all.net is not going to pull a stunt anything like this. Items4all Terms and Conditions do say that accounts will be placed on hold if the users does not log into their account for over 30 days but so far we're not enforcing this and to get your accouint reinstated would be a simple email saying "Please reinstate my account... I'm still doing your site!".

Cheers,
Tez.

That's probably just a template email with your referral link to send to your friends.

Re: Important Change to Terms & Conditions

i think nayeemsattar completed the xbox360 site after the new terms and conditions, but wasnt required to fill out any form, just did the standard procedure and ordered as normal.

but miles said he had to fill out a form, maybe it is different for different sites
eg the digicam and xbox360 site dont require UK users to print and sign a form?

Re: Important Change to Terms & Conditions

Its a bad day.. I opened up a support ticket, saying that I would like to start a 'clean-sheet' and for me to be taken off hold, and this is what they said:

"We are sorry however; this hold will not expire. Thank you."

So I guess I have an answer now, but I am definetly not happy with the answer as I did Nothing wrong. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do now? I think I am going to start a new site.. but not sure which one. Anyone know of one with lows refs for anything? If anyone could give me any directions on what I do next then I will be very grateful. Thanks again everyone. James.

Re: Important Change to Terms & Conditions

I got all my refs before the new T&Cs and was into the approval process for 3 days when it changed. Initially I was told to send in the form which I completed but didnt mail. Fortunatley 2 days later my status page chaged to say that my account was approved and I could put in my order. Guess I was just in time.

ok so obviously they don't kill your account after the 90 days, they just won't let you order...

We cannot credit your account for an offer, if you completed it 90 days after you signed up for a new account with us. Per our Terms and Conditions, we require all users who signup for an account with us to complete an offer within 90 days of their account signup date.
also one of my yellows should have gone green but hasn't, can I get them to open a support ticket....

If you did not receive credit for an offer that was completed more than 15 days ago, please fax the following information to us at (202) 478-0817:

User ID
First and Last Name
Mailing Address
Offer Confirmation ID Number (if known)
Name of Offer

Upon receipt of this information, we will contact the appropriate offer provider to ensure that you have completed an offer with them. This verification process by the offer provider can take them up to 30 days. If successful verification is received by us, we will manually apply credit to your account for that particular offer.
