Freepay delivery explanation

I sent a support ticket to Freepay the other day about being over my ESD, and received this message not too long ago, which I thought should be in an easily viewable place for people to see.

Our Fulfillment Department has received your order. Once an order has been placed, it is added to a queue on a first come first served basis. We currently do not carry excess inventory in our fulfillment center therefore your product is not ordered from the manufacturer until it has been placed. Furthermore, orders are bundled together and ordered in bulk typically on a monthly basis. Therefore we are unable to provide a specific timeframe. These steps are necessary in order for us to continue to provide free products to our customers. We recognize this may further delay receipt of your product but want to assure you of our commitment to honor all legitimate orders. We apologize that further inquiries into this matter can not be processed; as there is no additional information available until your order status has changed from “pending”, “processing”, or “in progress” to “shipped”.

Sincerely,

The FreePay
Customer Service Team
So, if you are over the ESD do not cancel your order!. you will simply go to the back of the queue.

Also, it seems like Freepay will wait until there are enough people that have ordered an item before they ship them out in bulk.

On a popular site they may ship out monthly or every other month but on a site such as Laptops or Flatscreens because there are higher referral numbers, not as many people may be ordering, therefore there is an increased waiting time until there are enough.

I think they have always mostly done that (i.e. wait for X number of people before ordering to benifit from bulk discounts), and although i feel they have slowed their operations down quite a bit in general i think part of the slowness is due to the reduced number of people using and ordering from the site (less people ordering = longer to wait for orders). When they were the original (freeipods.com) they were always so much quicker, due to there being no real alternative but since then people have gone elsewhere...the less people who use it the slower it will become and the slower they become the less people will use it. Their in a really bad circle, and i hope as a company they are trying to resolve these issues for their sake!

Re: Freepay delivery explanation

would be nice if they up-dated their help pages then..

For products that are currently in stock with our suppliers/fulfillment vendors, your product order is immediately sent to them for fulfillment. For products that are currently unavailable due to high demand and/or limited supply, we will only submit your product order to the appropriate supplier/fulfillment vendor when the product is available with them.
and the reason they've given also back-ups the whole "you'll get amazon vouchers faster then a product" as they can order them as and when, don't have to wait for them to come into stock and prob get requested the most...

Re: Freepay delivery explanation

Let's be honest folks, everything is so random with Freepay that this reminds me of Donald Rumsfeld when he said:

The Unknown
As we know,
There are known knowns.
There are things we know we know.
We also know
There are known unknowns.
That is to say
We know there are some things
We do not know.
But there are also unknown unknowns,
The ones we don't know
We don't know.

You know that makes complete sense but it can be unknown that anyone knows it does. I know it makes sense.
