eXceem - freeipods.com question

ok, do correct me if I am wrong but couldn't I simply go around to a friends house, use their internet and sign up to freeipods.com through my link using screenselect and my own credit card (the same one I used to set up my own account) and just putting random details in?

If this is not the case then what is the problem? What sort of checks do gratis have in place to stop this sort of activity?

Every single site has fraud prevention, its really not worth doing, especially as you'll loose your account and the chance to get a free gift!

but how would they realise that it was you again?
is it because the same credit card has been used?
would you be able to do it with a different credit card with the same billing address?

They have many ways of tracking - billing address on the cards may be one.

Just dont risk it - its really that simple - stick to the rules and you will be fine.

or, alternatively go round a friends house, make him signup to screen select with his details. Then he can do the same and you both get ipods :- )

If I signed up again to freeipods.com (already have my ipod) on another pc in my house, used my dad's or mum's debit card and got referals and manage to complete would they let me have the iPod? I could also have it delivered to my nan's as she lives like 4 streets away... Surely then it would have absolutely nothing to do with me... :P

There might be a problem with the billing accounts on the credit cards, maybe if u used your nans card at your house on the other pc, then all would be fine, at least I think???

Anyone tried anything similar? would be great to hear from you.

helpmeout - Lementos was joking - like i have said before these companies have many fraud checks in place so its really not worth trying to scam - play by the rules !

I agree, These sites already have a reputation for scamming people, why would you want to scam them back. If you already have one iPod then go on to the next site. There's plenty of them and so what If you have to work a little harder. Be patient... You will get it.

and remember most of the sites in the uk have one or more of their "spies" (sorry couldn't think of a better word!) reading and posting these messageboards, they're the people who can also give you lots of help in relation to those sites also. if you post that you're gonna go round to your nans house and sign up from her computer using your credit card. it's not going to be very hard for them to check really is it??!!
don't cheat, it just ruins it for the people you got your referal from, and everyone else too!
