LittleBidTasty / PayPal Issues

Yesterday while trying to add Credits to my LBT Account I was presented with the usual PayPal payment screen, but after trying to move forward I was halted by a screen that stated I would have to use my secondary 'funding source' which was strange because I had enough balance to complete the transaction. I went back thinking it was a bug and began to try again, which lead me to yet another screen stating that this transaction could not be made with PayPal.

I created a ticket with PP assuming there was am issue with my account. I received this response today:

Quote:
Thank you for the opportunity to provide assistance for you today.
I apologize if you are unable to make a payment using your PayPal account.
I checked your account and it shows that the transaction you tried to make was stopped by our Internal Security Program.
Our internal security program determines whether an individual transaction has a high risk of failure or not. This has nothing to do with the available funding source in your bank account or the seller individually.
Usually, if the transaction does not fit the pattern of transactions that you normally make, our Internal Security Program will not allow it to be initiated. Unfortunately, since there are literally thousands of transactions that go through the PayPal System each minute, it is logically impossible to manually turn it off. It is a self-regulating program.
My obvious concern is that many.. actually most all of my future referrals will be doing this for the first time (if not they would have already done it and not need me to refer them), and will surely trigger the same Internal Security Program.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Is there a workaround in the form of an option to simply send the payment to a receiving LBT addy?

Concerned

Upon adding credits for the first time via PayPal, was it the first time you had ever used PayPal to purchase an item / service similar to LBT? These are the individuals that this affects apparently.

There is no work around available, you cannot simply send us money (it is the same thing). I find it unusual that most of your referrals have never used paypal before, it is one of the most common gateways available

I'm not sure if you read the PayPal customer service response that I posted above, but yes off course anyone can 'simply send' you money from their PP account, given that you provide an email address for them to do so. This is what she is suggesting in the response. In other words ... for those that run into this issue, having an option to send LBT the money directly from their PP, them having it posted to their account by you, opposed to going through the actual checkout may solve it. It is not the same thing.

I'm not sure why you find it unusual that my referrals here in the States may run into the same issue I just did. I have had a verified, active PayPal Business Account for a very long time and have never seen this issue myself. However I have never attempted to purchase credits from an auction site overseas and neither will have most of my future referrals, as I stated.

Is this a new PP implementation, I have no idea, but I do know that it would be counterproductive to pitch LBT if my referrals are headed for this issue. This is just what the Rep. said, don't kill the messenger. I can forward the email to you if need be.

Sorry if my message was a bit short, I was typing on my phone.

We cannot give an email address for people to send money to as this would not integrate with the way the site works to give credits, it is just not possible i'm afraid.

I wasn't suggesting that it would be unusual for them to run into the same issue, I thought you were saying that none of your referrals would have used paypal before (that I would find unusual)

It's not something I've seen before but as the rep says it is not necessarily to do with the buyer or seller so I'm not sure how we can get around it.

No worries at all, I was just curious if had been encountered before. It's good to know that it is PayPal, not LBT nor the purchaser. They would experience something similar to:

In the rare chance that it did happen to someone, they still have plenty of other painless / useful offers to choose from.
