LOL! Frankly speaking, I'd joined Kudos and eXceem after the LOVEFiLM offer was withdrawn, so I don't have any idea what kind of conversions existed earlier, but yeah, really, it would be wonderful to see the offer back. I've heard the conversion rates were superb before the offer was taken off...

Can't we somewhat ask LOVEFiLM themselves if the can do anything about this (If we're allowed to)??? I mean, you know, if lot of people support this, I can see a ray of hope of getting the offer back... Your opinions?

Rich and alex are in constant contact with lovefilm but I don't think it suits lovefilm they were losing money on it.

No, leave contacting Lovefilm about this to the networks.

Personally I can't see the offer ever coming back, if it was to I think it would have by now, still fingers crossed!

I mean, all of the people who sign up to the free trial are potential customers and a large number of them also continue ahead with their services.. I'm really confused as to how they could be in a loss with the offer on the networks... Anyone minds explaining, please?

lots of people were (the C word). people advertised that you should (the C word). so for love film there was a very low conversion from trial members to paid members.

Low amounts of people actually went on to stay after the trial and lovefilm paid out for every legit completion so obviously they were losing money.

It was such a shame. It was a very popular offer but only a low percentage of those continued with the service and the majority 'C worded'. Because of the bad leads LOVEFiLM said they'd pull it and reconsider further down the line... I think they did and the answer was no.

I don't quite understand how LOVEFiLM managed to pull in quite so many pendings and greens (and revokes) compared to offers we have available now... I mean there are quite a few very good free offers, but none are as popular as LOVEFiLM was... I just don't know why!

But I completely agree with the OP, though think it is massively unlikely. (Though there would be much singing and dancing in the streets if Rich were to announce it's return!)

The think that gets my goat is that they are still doing the trial on other websites (ie amazon and quidco) with £10, £15 and £20 incentives for using the free trial!

If that can do that and still run the risk of people not going on to staying with them after the trial why did they pull their FJ/Kudos offers only to carry on elsewhere?

There was actually not a terrible conversion rate, it was just lower than you would see from completely natural traffic and this was a problem for Lovefilm. There was also a stronger decline over a 4 month period or so after sign up from incentives traffic than traffic generated in other ways.

I remain convinced that the people we sent to Lovefilm are very likely to use the Lovefilm service again in the future when their disposable income increases, even if they couldn't afford to take on a lengthy subscription immediately after the trial... but that unfortunately isn't measurable.

We continue to try to find replacements, and also to see if there are ways that we can bring back the LF free trial but as always we cannot promise anything.

Surely can't they introduce it for a period of time and maybe looked into the affected areas that are bringing in low conversions for whatever reason and act on it. Talk with xpango and gather information on why lovefilm is still available for them.

@Ryan, Xpango use a different model to FJ and KUDOS and it wouldn't work to compare the two.

@Alex, perhaps they could offer the 30 day free trial rather than the 14 day one? Or make suggestion sales pitches for us so that we can follow their guidelines and provide enough information for the potential customers. It seems silly of them to drop it without looking at ways to enhance and improve it.
