Would this be against the rules?

I got a free xbox 360 slim from freebiejeebies, and am wondering if this would be against the rules:

Make a youtube video, entitled something like "Free xbox 360 slim giveaway" Then, in the video, explain how to be a part in the drawing you must click my link in the comment section, and sign up and complete an offer, then message me with the email address they did it on. After I get like 20-25 greens, randomly pick one of the people and give them the slim. That would make me go +15 greens, and I could keep doing that gaining more referrals.

Would that break any of the freebiejeebies rules or anything like that?

The only thing with something like this is that it would be classed as a raffle, which you would need a license for.

I would say in the video I wasn't going to draw until I got 25 people signed up. If I never get that many, I'll never give it away haha

If you make people sign up under the impression that they could win something but never give it away, it's fraud.

To be be fair how is that any different to these premium rate numbers they use for quizzes, and he never said he wouldn't give one away just he'd wait for 25 referrals

I had previously said that I would say in the video I would give it away if/when I got 25 sign ups. I won't give it away until I get 25. I don't see how that's fraud lol

Rather than set a referral limit for it, try setting a time when it will end ect. For example, 2weeks before christmas it can end, this will encourage people to get a free xbox 360 ready for christmas.

Where's the argument here? If you're not gonna post constructively rather than just dig at people don't bother.

I don't see how not giving away the 360 if he doesn't get enough referrals isn't frauding the people already signed up.

All he said was the competition would state that the draw would take place after 25 people have signed up. Then he said, if until he got 25 referrals, he wouldn't give it away. I don't see how this is frauding the sign ups, if they know the xbox isn't going to be given away until 25 people have signed up.

Tbh (although I'm not an expert) I see this as similar to the copyright law. Technically, we're not meant to use all the copyrighted images on our website that we do, but we still do it.

I doubt all the competitions you see on Youtube have official licenses, and I doubt the police are going to turn up on your doorstep for posting a raffle! But meh, if it's a problem that will get you put on hold, then yeah, don't do it

I don't see how it would work. Even if you do get 25 referrals I don't see any reason why you would actually give away the 360. No-one is going to know any different if you don't as it was just from a youtube video. I really don't believe if you got 25 referrals you would send some random person who signed up through your youtube video a Xbox 360.

I would post the winners name in a comment and hopefully once he received it he'd comment and vouch for me lol. Then hopefully I'd keep doing it more and more until I became trusted among the YouTube community
