New feature on Apple - BETA version only

Hey all, after a few requests I've implemented subid tracking on Apple only. This is the first attempt at this feature so if it is buggy then I apologise but please report the bugs to me and I'll do my best to fix them.

You can now pass more info to our site and we'll report it back to you via the CSV and XLS downloads.

Please note this feature is only on Apple while i'm testing it.

http://apple.freebiejeebies.co.uk/1itemid50sub123richardrules123

would report in the sub column 123richardrules123

The sub field can be up to 20 characters in length and must only include alphanumeric characters so A-Z and 0-9. The sub field can be used with or without itemid so:

http://apple.freebiejeebies.co.uk/1sub123 would also work

Please note the sub parameter must be the last thing passed in the link so you can include letters as well as numbers:

http://apple.freebiejeebies.co.uk/1subrichard123rulesitemid51 will NOT work

Feedback in this thread please

I'm sorry I'm not sure what you mean, where would you expect to see it? It would only show for your new referrals when they sign up and you download the exports

It does make the URL longer, but URL shorteners can be used.

Basically - see TEMPLE's thread on better tracking ability.

It means you could include the name of each of your sites so you know which is converting better or for different methods.

EG - subids - businesscards, website1, etc

Yeah I logged out of my account before using the link which creates the effect of you not having an account and being able to see the link. Doesn't it?

I don't know, where was it supposed to show?

Ahhh, right, I get it now!

So it will help the user see where their referrals are coming from, what page, what link etc

Good idea! (well done Temple!) Not one I particularly need though I don't think, I'll stick to my stupidly long php file

Thanks though!

pspupgrade is a jewel in the rough
Just to add, for those people who are concerned about it extending the ref link too much, the sub could be just a single digit number to represent a certain method, such as

http;//apple.freebiejeebies,co,uk/1itemid50sub1 represents your first method
http;//apple.freebiejeebies,co,uk/1itemid50sub2 represents your second method

This is excellent!

On my website I had some numbers at the end of each link so I could see which were covertering the most referrals. This way is much easier.

PS I clicked verify last Monday and it still hasn't gone through yet. Will it be verified any day now or would people recommend I contact support? I thought about contacting them but this would most probably slow my process down anyway so I decided not to.

Must Spread Rep Richard!

This is great guys, it really opens the doors to fine-tuning what segments of our traffic are converting and which are wasting our time!

10/10 feature, can't wait to get my tracking script up and running with this!

Say you have a one page website

You have 5 sign up links on that page

you want to know which links bring in the most sign ups

you use "subID" to monitor that... so name each link "subID1" "SubID2" etc and you can see after people have signed up which "SubID" they came from.

You can then edit your site accoridinly.

Same can be used for different methods etc etc etc

I'll make a site, then try it out because right now I only have a YouTube video.

I've gotten many freebies with it. My first freebie from FJ was an Xbox 360 Elite! Search "free macbook pro". I'm near the top, so it's hard to miss.
