FJ account deletion question.

Whilst I understand that if someone signs up to FJ and then decides that they want to cancel their account on FJ and have all details removed, FJ have no choice but to comply but would it be possible when that happens to at least still show the referral number on the status page with something like "Account Deleted" where the email goes?

I'm asking because yesterday I noticed a recent sign up had done the Lovefilm PAYG offer and was pending and then when I refreshed the page it just vanished into thin air.

It's annoying when they do that, even more so if they have done an offer as we lose a potential green. Then again, they may have cancelled that offer as well but it would be nice for our own info to know someone has deleted their account. Obviously there would be no way a member could contact them if their email address was removed.

Just a thought.

I completely agree, I remember it happened to me once.

Well, you wouldn't freak out when you lose a green and his e-mail disappears

If you have a number of greens/pendings and then one just disapears, at the moment you have no way of knowing why. Could be an offer gets revoked or someone put on hold but it may not be obvious to the user which one. If an account is deleted I have no idea where the green/pending has gone but if I see an account number showing as account deleted, at least I know the reason.

Might also cut out a few support tickets too

To be honest, if someone asks us to delete their account and their offer is pending it's likely they won't complete the offer anyway and it would be revoked.

yup, I know that's most likely to happen, it's just annoying though knowing your account has gone by one but having no idea whether it was revoked/on hold/deleted especially if its an older sign up.

I agree with arcticfox.

If they complete an offer, and then cancel their FJ account, do FJ still get paid? If so I think you should still get a green

I had intuit completed before, then all of a sudden, it vanished. The person must have decided that referrals would be too hard to get and deleted their FJ account. It only happened once to me so it only very rarely happens so it's not a big issue. But it's annoying, if only verification could be quicker.....
