Hey guys!

I'm new to the forums and yesterday signed up to FJ.
I've done some research and reading and hope to pick up more points as I read through the forums on how to increase my referrals and get that lucky 10 I'm hoping for!

I'm currently saving for the Xbox 360 Slim!! Looks like there is plenty of knowledge around these boards so I'll keep my eyes peeled

Yes, I hope I get those 10 referrals too. I know my Dad is actually wanting to sign up to Love Film... so I'll send him a link for his house address... kill two birds with one stone!

Anyway, it seems the majority of people have their own websites, so I will certainly look into that.

If there are any other tips you can offer? (Without breaking the rules of course).

Good idea, just remember that if you signed up at the same house as your Dad and use the same address, then that would be breaking FJ rules.

Welcome Amnesia like Chapperz said be careful not to make that mistake, you should make sure you read the rules of Freebiejeebies and Exceem before you set out getting your referals, you will get alot of help and support from this Forum, but please if you have any questions do a search for old posts first to see if its already been answered for someone else before you.

Thanks for the help SD.

I'm not out to get a free gift overnight, I'm prepared to put in the work and effort required.
From reading the rules, a lot of it is quite common sense... no using shared computers, can't sign up more than one person per household. Can't just get your mates to do it and use your credit card to prove the trials are free, etc.

However, I am hoping to pick up useful tips and tools from experience (you guys) that will help maximise in how successful I am with FJ.

Good, just wanted to let you know as you don't want to go on hold. You can join a conga, you'll get two greens from that, and you can make trades in the trade section.

Conga
You will have to join a different FreebieJeebies site and when you complete an offer, you will be added to the end of the conga. When you get to the front of the conga, you will be asked for your referral link, then people will sign up under your referral link until you have 2 greens from it.

Trading
There are two different types, G4G (green for green) and G4C (green for cash). G4G is where you sign up via someone else's referral link and complete an offer, in turn, they will sign up via your referral link and complete an offer, meaning you get a green and they get a green. G4C is where you can pay someone to sign up via your referral link and complete an offer and visa versa. The "market price" for a green is around £10-15.

A note about the trade section, you can only gain access to the trade section after being a member for 5 days and making 5 meaningful posts. So you can apply to trade on the 25th July, and you can request access by posting in this thread (http://www.exceem.co.uk/forums/excee...s-area-21.html).

There are many other ways to get sign ups and here are a few.

Videos
You can submit a video to YouTube or Vimeo. Make sure that you explain what is happening, how it works and put some proof pictures in there too, which can be found on here and some members will allow you to use them if you ask nicely. The hard part is trying to get as much exposure as possible. Watch out for people commenting as they will be sceptical about freebies and may just abuse the commenting system. I change the settings on video comments, so that any comments that are made, require my approval.

Posters/Business Cards

Try and think outside the box. Some of the best and most successful methods are the ones that have never been done before. Sit down for a few minutes and think about what your target audience is and how you can tap into that, there are many methods on here in the How to get greens section and you can change these to suit you. If you don't have much experience in creating a website then I suggest free website builders (like webs.com) or a free blog (like blogger). If you have some experience, then you can buy a domain and get some free hosting from 000webhost.com. There are also many free css templates out there to download. If you want any images being made, then you can make a thread in the eXceem Graphics Team section, but don't forget your Ps & Qs. As you said, everyone has a website, but how do you get your website to stand out above the rest? The answer is simple, SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is what gets you from being on page 20 of Google and getting low traffic and being at number 1 on Google and getting loads of traffic and loads of referrals.

SEO is made up of two things, on-site and off-site. On-site involves tags, such as :

- meta tags (this is what search engines see)
- alt tags (short for alternative, used with images)
- h1 (the biggest heading tag, usually at the top of the page)

Off-site is mainly backlinks. The key to getting to number 1 on Google is backlinks. This requires a lot of time and effort, but it will be worth it. You can create backlinks by :

- Submitting articles to article directories. Remember to include a link to your website and a well written article can also generate a decent amount of traffic.

finally got my first green today bit impressed i am 1 down 9 to go lol, i kinda used everything mentioned above, website, twitter and a bit of ebay just for good measure. if anyone has a good explantion (ie simple mans english lol) of how to get my website further up the search in yahoo or google i'll love you forever
