This is for FJ admins.

when people click the lovefilm offer on FJ's offers page the landing page for lovefilm has a grey banner across the top, now if any of the signups were to hit the "start a FREE trail" it removes the ref link.

does this still count via cookies or do we and FJ lose out on a potential pending?

If they did that though, would the person that signed up to lovefilm send a support ticket once they didnt go green?

Could this be why so many seem to revoke? I don't know if it would make a difference if it was done by cookies though.

If they were tracked by cookies then there would be no problem unless the customer hit another referral link, then it would overwrite it.

If they hit the link that stripped the ref link, and there were no cookies you can bet that a large percentage of people would just decide that FJ didn't work and never go back to it.

Therefore your referral would just stay red, and you would be none the wiser.

Just to confirm this wouldn't affect tracking - it drops the cookie before this stage

Hi, just to confirm that when you enter lovefilm with a promotion code or a ref link a session is created for that user.
So even though its not shown in the address bar, that user is tracked with the information passed to lovefilm, this stays with the user unless they go off somewhere else and clicks on another promotion, this will then overwrite the previous one..
of course they can then choose to go to the first one and click again to get that promotion.
