Web Site Advise

I have read a lot of posts on exceem and a fair few of you guys and girls seem to have set up a website. There are a couple of things I would like to know? Do you pay for the website to be online? if so what's the cheapest way to get a website online. I can design a website myself but just need to get it online as quickly and cheaply as possible.

A good way to start out is by using a free webhost 000webhost are a good choice and you can also choose one of their free domains. Then when your site starts to attract more visitors you could easily add a paid domain name. Also 123-reg are having a special offer on .eu domains (just 99p!) but there are under 1900 left so get in quick if you want one

Just my opinion, but I thinkin 000webhost would be a really bad choice. There support is nill for the free users, the bandwidth limit is dreadful and the space restrictions are quite low. Also, anyone who current is unlucky enough to be using SQL1 server with them cant use or manage their SQL database. Its affecting thousands of users, yet they have taken 2 weeks (so fra) to even look at it.

As far as free hosts go, 100GB of traffic and 1500mb of storage is good. I started with them and had no problems during the 6 months I used them.

I am using 000webhost for several websites, and they are fine. Obviously if the decent support is important, then don't go with them.

But I think starting off with a free host is good. If you don't know how successful or dedicated you are going to be to actually make any profit from your websites, why increase the financial outlay? It is very easy to change webhosts later on, so you might as well start with a free host, and then move to a paid host if you find you need more space (you won't need more than 1.5gb unless your site is huge), or if you find you need more bandwidth (you won't need more unless you have a lot of visitors visiting poorly designed web pages with a large file size), or if you find you struggle without support.

Hi thanks for all of your advise. I am going to try 000webhost and see how I get on.
The other thing is, Where can I get the pictures for the links to lovefilm and the other offers so I can put them on the website??

Go onto the FJ offers page, find the one you want, right click >> save as..

But I cannot find how to upload it onto 000webhost

Any support on this would be great.

You were either very lucky, or the fault was your own and they just gave you advice.... I must admit they are quick at giving advice, but if there is a problem at their end you stand nill chance of them sorting it out if you are a free customer. Just check the websites sub-forum to read all the people having issues at the moment with SQL1 server.

lol 000webhost were shocking when I tried them. Never looked back since I now receive replies within the hour with paid hosting!
