Different gift rates on different FJ sites

Hi folks. I'm trying to get a PS3 from gifts.FJ. A 120GB is 13 refs with no games. However I just noticed that on PS3.FJ, a 120GB with 2 games is 13, or a 250GB with no games is only 13 as opposed to 15 on gifts.FJ.

Why are they different? Surely the price is always the same?

They are different because it is easier to get referrals on the gifts site than the PS3 site.

It's also easier to cash out with less refs on the other sites. On most sites you could give up after 2 refs and still cash out. On PS3 the minimum would be 11 refs. I guess that means less people would complete it.

Think about it, If you can refer people to a site to get a free PS3. OR refer them to a site to get a free PS3, Xbox, Wii, a million kinds of iPod, Macbooks, iPhones etc. etc.

Which one do you think would get more referrals?

When companies diversify into new markets they increase sales volume and profitability. It's not really any different to what happens here.

I suppose, but is that enough reason to have diff ref rates though?! Just because their .gifts site is likely to get more refs!

Well maybe someone from FJ will come along and back me up but yes, I think that they have to do it otherwise the PS3 site wouldn't be as profitable. They are a business afterall

This has been asked countless times before. PS3 site has no small value items on it so less people can complete it meaning we can offer the ps3 cheaper than on the other sites.

Who would join the PS3 site if they knew there was the same gift on gifts/consoles for the same amount? Especially if they know that if they got 4 or 5 and then needed money they could cash out in the other sites but not PS3?

Freebiejeebies are a business and understandably in it to make money. I imagine its possible that the sites like apple/gifts/consoles might not generate as much profit (if any) as sites like HDTV and PS3. They have to balance up the sites so they can afford to send us lovely jubbly gifts.

Therefore, its in their advantage to lower the refs on PS3 to try and attract new customers.

Ooft. Opened a can of worms there

I was only asking as I'm not sure whether to go for a 250 or 120. At the moment I'm going for a 120GB as it's less referrals, and therefore less time to wait. If only I could increase my conversion rate I'd be sorted. Got 5 sign ups over the weekend, but they'll probably not do an offer.
