Email sign up question

I'm a bit confused I checked my status page today to find a sign up from aphamel. This was all it said. No @provide.com or anything just a word.

I thought that FJ would have a system in place to check and ensure that the person enters an email address into that field? If not then it would show an error?

Or am I wrong?

I noticed when arcticfox signed up under me to check my referrals were tracking properly that he just used ARCTICFOX with no email. Although that doesn't explain why any joe-of-the-mill would be able to!

There was a thread on eXceem, around the time of the Facespam method, where a couple of people where saying they thought possibly they had issues with their referrals tracking, as their facespam had dried up. I noticed the same, and to check, somebody signed up under me, and it was an Admin/Mod/FJ person/Figure of Freebie Authority, and they didn't use a full email address, just one word in capital letters, and I think it was their eXceem name, or some name I recognised them by.

I'm pretty sure I was a bit curious about this at the time, but I think it got removed afterwards. I'm not sure whether the person that did it notified them that it was just a test account, or whether it was an FJ admin testing their own systems.

Why would a fj owner sign up and complete an offer on your account. This sounds wierd.
Edit: just saw above post. didnt complete just signed up. It makes sense now

Nobody completed an offer! The issue was the referral tracking system, not the offer tracking system.
