This is a discussion on Double Sign up within the Freebiejeebies forums, part of the eXceem supported sites category; I know that I've definitely had double sign ups before but usually that's because they mispelt their email address slightly ...

I know that I've definitely had double sign ups before but usually that's because they mispelt their email address slightly first time round, but this time both email addresses are spelt exactly the same?

I thought that FJ would have a system in place that wouldn't allow the user to register twice with the same email address?

Maybe its just a small glitch.,. maybe a user clicked register, then it was loading and he click it again and that might have caused a double signup. just like double post

I've had this too, and was just told that come verification the unused account will be removed (obviously they can't login to two accounts with one email address)

It's a known fault to FJ and as mentioned, the inactive duplicate will be removed during verification.

The one I had, and queried had identical timestamps as well.
Worry not.

yes, i can't work out how it happens despite looking at it repeatedly - the site does check if the email is registered already and usually returns an error but sometimes it just duplicates it entirely and I really don't know why. As someone said we ignore these 'duplicates' at verification in any case so it doesn't really matter.

I assume these people wont even know that they have 2 separate account numbers?
