i am so confused =S
i signed up to a site called freebiejeebies to try and get myself a new laptop as mine has packed in on me.
and the site has told me after my offer is complete i need to get referrals to qualify for my free gift...
i don't understand.
can anyone help me?

Hey Scars, the referrals are a prerequisite to recieving a free laptop.

They get paid commission for your offer completion and the offer completion of each of your referrals, that's how they can afford to buy you a new laptop.

Ignore the iPod shuffle under your username, it's just a post count thing which has been around here for eons.

thanks for letting me know. you have helped me abit but in a way my understanding of this hole site and free laptop thing is still messing with my head.

could you give me a few short bullet pointers on what i should do after i sign up to lovefilms.com ...
i signed up to them and FJ says i need to rent at least 1 DVD to be applicable to get my gift.
i've rented out 2, now what?
do i try and get referrals?

as you can tell im pretty hopeless at this at the moment.

You have to get a certain number of people to sign up at your referral link, which will be on the "Refer Friends" page on FreebieJeebies. If you go to the "My Status" page it will tell you how many people you need to sign up at your link. They each need to complete an offer on the "Offers" page to qualify as one of your referrals.

Oh and just a reminder, you aren't allowed to post your referral link (the one that ends in all the numbers) on this forum!

The second you post your referral link your post will be reported and if are doing it knowingly against the rules chances are you will be banned!

Basically, you get people to sign up to FreebieJeebies under your referral link (found in the "refer friends" page in FreebieJeebies) and then complete an offer. They too can also complete a free trial offer eg. LoveFilm, Intuit etc.
The number of referrals needed depends on the item you choose. You can check how many referrals you need for an item by going to "My Status" and pressing "Change Free Gift" (found under the picture of your gift)
Here, when you click on an item, the number of referrals needed for that item will be written below it. So for example, an iPod Touch 8GB requires 8 referrals, an iPod Nano 8GB requires 5 referrals, a PS3 Slim - 120GB requires 13 referrals. The more expensive an item the more referrals it needs.

Note: Only one person from one house can sign up to FreebieJeebies. So you cant tell one of your family members you lives with to sign up under you. Also, It's best to avoid getting people to sign up in a school, library, work-place etc. (or any public places where internet can be accessed) as these too will not count if more than one person signs up from these places. Only one person from one IP (internet address).

Also you cant ask members of eXceem to be your referral! This can only take place in the Trades section. More info about how to be accepted for the trades section can be found if you search the Forum.

Not trying to deter you from freebie hunting but to be honest, if you're in need of a laptop fast, you would be better off buying one as getting the referrals can take awhile. It might be good to start off small, such as getting accessories for you laptop like a wireless keyboard or software for example.
Also, you can do a custom order by submitting a ticket to support and telling them the item you want as well a link to the specific item. For example, you could look on Amazon or PC World and find a laptop that may end up needing less referrals than the one displayed on FreebieJeebies.
