| grrh when will admin do something about these noobs. it makes the forum look spammy each time there is one of these posts, daily, all is needed is a vbulletin mod which is free and can cut all this crap out... |

 | urm op was posted at 7.27am mod edited the link 7.44am that in my books is doing something, you will never stop the spammers its just an annoyance forums have to moderate.

| yes you can stop them though.. by having the mod it tells them when they goto post that they cannot insert url until they have been member etc and have some posts.. trust me this works on other forums im a member of. so dont see why it wont work here either, and vbulletin have loads of mods for forums specifically for spam Last edited by sgll; 09-12-09 at 10:54 AM.. |

 | Why do people insist on commenting long after a link is removed? Are witty comments really needed? If a link has been deleted, there really is no need to add anything else. As has been pointed out, the link was removed very soon as possible. If you see a link report it and post on that thread to say you have reported it. If you see a post saying reported, no need to add anything. Links posted by newbies or spammers are noted by us when deleted and this info is useful. A program to block links would only end up with people findibg ways round it anyway and thats harder to spot.

There are people who come here, post a link and have no intention of ever coming back again but there are also people who put a link and then realise their error and want to be part of the community. Like I said, it doesnt need 5 or 6 people posting, sometimes days later to basically make fun at the posters expense.

| Maybe a popup with 'No ref links' in huge writing, when a new user first logs in will do the trick.
