Spam warnings

Just a general question here, if i were to spam a method and someone were to report me to Rich & Alex, would i be put on hold immediately or would they give me a couple warnings or what?

If we received a complaint then we'd contact you and ask you to stop, if it continues after the complaint (as in you ignore us) then that's on hold.

Surely that is encouraging somebody to spam, by saying that they would get away with it once, with all respect to Diesel, he has just expressed his intention to spam!

I can think of lots of ways to get signups using tools at my disposal, but it is the fear of being put on hold that has prevented me.

So maybe I'll give them all a try ONCE.

well i wasnt warned and was put on hold right away. only way i got it sorted was to contact support. but i never ever got a warning or anything like that

It's a fine line and our judgement is obviously used, if i receive persistent complaints about the same member spamming site x, then site y, then site z then obviously that's different

We don't want to be too strict on people as some people's definition of spam is different to anothers. We'd also take into account how bad it was - 500 pages of comments that are all spam would be a lot worse than 1 comment a day on different pages.

@sgll - sometimes the hold is put on because based on the information we have at the time it appears that a hold would have been justifiable.

Spam is against our terms and conditions at the end of the day, you can be put on hold for it and we would never encourage it
