ps3.fj......or xbox !!

Who thinks 11 referrals is hard to get.....do you guys think I should stay on ps3.fj and be patient or go to another fj site and go for an xbox.......just want honest opinions

It's got to be the 360; console of choice for me and the one I'm on most (use my ps3 for movies, tv shows, etc)

What are the loading times like on the PS3 compared to the Xbox 360?

Depends how you look at it. The 360 reads at 12x and even faster if you install it to the HD. The PS3 reads at 2x which is why it forces mandatory installs (Metal Gear Solid has around 5 minutes forced installs at the end of each level!) though tends to run faster and quieter after they're done.

I prefer not having to install and wipe games off so would say the 360 is the faster of the two; maybe not in the long run but certainly long enough for me to 'clock' the game I'm playing.

I have the new Elite, so I'm guessing I have an 80GB or something hard drive? I don't really know that much about specs, I only bought it for my other half and got addicted!

I tend to put my games on the hard drive anyway (disc scratching issues are therefore avoided, as you can use a damaged disk to validate and not have to buy another disc when it gets those fine whorls, or tip it on it's side like I did!

Oopps.) so that's not really an issue for me.

I would suggest the ps3 as it is just simply amazing. I have one and love it to death. MY suggestion would be though to go to a site like gifts.fj or consoles.fj as for the next time after you get your first gift you will be able to choose an xbox 360 or something else. =D

I like both but Xbox 360 is better. Its only drawback is its failure rate, that's all and Xbox 360 elite is 10 referrals now.

ps3, 100%....have convinced 2 of my eggsbox mates to get ps3's recently and they love them more than their own mothers.....i still love both their mothers more than a ps3, but thats a whole different story.

Look mate, the only reason why lots of these guys here prefer 360 is that they just cant afford a PS3 :P . Its better in every department. Metal Gear Solid 4 fills a dual layer blu-ray so that's 50GB of game so a 3 minute install after every ACT is not that bad (yes its every ACT and there are 5 in the game - the word level makes it seem like it installs 20 times.)

PS3 has blu-ray and also has SIXAXIS. I just cant see why you'd prefer a 360.

I'd second that. Although I have neither, the PS3 doesn't cost more greens for nothing. Plus, there's the internet and Blu-ray. If you are going for quality, go PS3.
