Just a quick question, thought it'd save a new thread posting it here.
One of my cousins wants to do an offer for me and he does not have a credit card. Can he do the coral offer with my credit card details

p.s. i have not done the coral offer.

No, offers must be completed under your own name only. (Please can we keep this thread to downtime issues please)

It was working fine for me a moment ago and has been for the past hour.
Not sure why it would go down again.
Just getting the error 404 now?

What is probably happening (this is my theory anyway):

I changed the nameservers yesterday to exceems - however, I could not remove the old nameservers - so your DNS is probably pointed at all 4 nameservers - it tries exceem first but when that one is busy it defaults to our old nameservers which are still pointing at the 404.

I've managed to remove the old ones now (around 2pm) and so these issues will fade over the next day or so - all i can say is keep trying

Not at all, that's the wonderful world of DNS - I can access all the sites, and support but not my emails if that helps.

Douf, its been said many times some isp's take longer to update than others. Using opendns is a solution, I don't know why you cant get it to work

Quick question. If new sign ups click the ref links now will they definitely be able to get to the sites?
What I'm trying to say is, is it only people like us (me) who have previously visited FJ who are still having trouble or is it anyone who's DNS servers haven't caught up yet?
Am I making any sense here?

Hey,
None of them are working for me either and I'm about to flush my DNS cache. One question though from a technical moron, will that affect my connection to the net or anything like that or is simply clearing the cache of sites i've visited?

anyone not just previous visitors will be affected

dns can take up to 48 hours for a change to filter through, so it could well be the weekend before everything is properly working.

Going by the people who can't access it, it jsut appears that virgin media is the main affected isp so once their dns caches update everything will be good

untill 20 mins ago my isp's (sky) were not showing the correct ip for fj, you cant really blame a ISP for the say the dns system works, they could do a 12 hour cache system and have just grabed the data before the nameservers were finally updated to the correct ones (this morning they must have been changed 20 odd times in a effort to fix something)

Well, I'm on Tiscali (!) and have just done a DNS flush but still getting 404's. I'll wait until tomorrow and hope it resolves itself.

I'm on virgin and it's fine for me. Aw well, as people have said I'm sure it'll be fine for everyone soon.

Glad things are getting sorted, thanks to richard for keeping us up to date through this
