yes - some kind soul found a way to change select so they could set the basket to 3 referrals for any items and decided to post it everywhere

I thought there was some sort of failsafe option that set it to 99999 referrals if someone tried to "hack" it?

there was - because they were setting it to 0 or 1

so i just put a temporary fix in place that if they set it to less than 3 it stung them (couldn't do any better than that in short term and they quickly realised to just set it to 3)

But now, although it looks like they can still hack it - they'll be sorely disappointed - still trying to work out if i can put a sting on it but not entirely sure

So the hack videos were true!!!

Whilst a good, honest, and upstanding member of exceem would never dream of exploiting such a loop hole, one does wish they had found this out a couple of weeks ago when there parents were looking at new TV's!!

we're not that daft

when someone verifies for a macbook for 3 referrals we tend to notice

(and the fact they hacked our site means they're not the sort of customers we want anyway)

It's true that they could get their account to show 3 refs when the item was more, it's not true that they would get past our verification and ordering processes! No-one will receive a gift by using these hacks, it just wastes our time resetting their accounts

more interestingly if you look at your server logs and figure out who it was via the ip you can then involve the police, as well as geting their internet cut off
