Question regarding IP

One of my mates wants to complete an offer for me, but he hasn't got Internet atm.

I was wondering if he could do it from my house, as when I created my account/did my offer etc, I was on BT Broadband

I've now switch to 02 (costs £15 less pm, and speeds 4x faster woop woop) so if he did it from my house, would it be OK?

cheers

Any reason why not ?
I would have though that both internal/external IP address would be different

You would need to raise a support ticket with freebiejeebies and ask them that.
You would need to be able to prove 100% that it is 2 different accounts with 2 different cards and 2 different offers as well as it actually being 2 different users - also explain the same address/ip issue!

This is solely down to FJ tho.

Hope this helps?

i wouldnt use those either as they are public...chances are someone else may have signed up or may have done the offer (doesnt have to be freebie related) and there you have another ip clash

same goes for university including halls of residence

feralwolf has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Don't ISPs change your IP address every time you establish a new connection to the local exchange? (Unless you have a static IP address) So surely that means that chance could have it that another person could sign up to an offer with "my" IP address, simply because we share the same ISP and I happened to turn my router off and they just came online. That is perhaps a simplistic view of it, but I think my point is quite clear. Isn't using IPv4 IP addresses as a means of identifying people a little crude? ...now IPv6 on the other hand...
