Remove the ref link and think about this way, if you knew of a way to get loads of refs would you share them and thus dilute the efficacy of your method, or keep t to yourself?

Take a look around for tips, though I doubt you'll be around long.

agreed with the first bit but was this bit really neccessary?

I believe that some of the more "esteem'ed" members of exceem did this same thing did'nt they? why do some members feel they have to downtalk to others?

In the_saints defence, (not that he needs me to defend him) you would have to say that these are usually "one-post wonders" who make a post with a ref link and then never return when the ref link gets removed and they realise they wont get any greens through posting links on exceem.

That's exactly it, I would put decent money on her never making another post again. You can tell by the language they use which ones want to part of exceem but have just made a silly mistake, and which ones are the one post wonders whose only intention is spamming. I'm 99% certain this is the latter.

agreed but if someone posts links after having a pop up telling you not to, then this "usually" suggests that they cant be bothered reading one little rule and generally just posts a link knowing that at worst it will be removed but they wont lose out as they probably arent interested in taking the time to have a look around exceem.

It can get a bit disheartening seeing someone register and then they make their first post 5 minutes afterwards saying "anyone got any tips?"

Why? Because when you first started you just guessed how the whole thing works? Like you never wanted people who can get 61 greens to tell you how to go about it themselves? For god's sake, listen to yourself

Re: freebiejeebies referral

Hi,
just thought id wade in on the issue. Iam also a relatively new member who still has not been granted access into the trades area. I dont expect that referals to be a quick process especially for somebody as new and clueless as i am although some constructive advice would be appreciated (and i dont mean insider secrets ) thanks

Would you like a fish to go with that chip on your shoulder?

If you are going to tesco and looking for a bargain, you have a look don't you? You don't go to customer services and ask them where the bargains are.

When I started I didnt know how the freebie thing worked but I did know how forums worked and knew that reading was the best thing to do. It's called common sense.

I like posts which go something like this.."Hi, I've just joined and I look forward to getting free stuff. I'm going to have a read about and I hope that helps".

I dislike posts that go, "I'm new and want to post 5 really meaningless posts and then feel forced to HAVE to wait 5 days so that I can enter a trading section. In the meantime I want people to tell me how to get greens".

When someone asks for helpful tips, 99% of the time they are told (quite rightly) to have a read about the forums as probably all they need to know is there, with a little searching.

Quite often the original poster doesnt come back to exceem but not because of the response from members, it's more to do with the fact they expect results ASAP and aren't prepared to do the donkey work themselves and graft.

Most people know how supermarkets work before they go there.

Oh, and..

Honestly couldnt care two hoots whether you are laughing or not, trust me. Supermarket was just an example but you wouldnt join forums and instantly ask for tips before reading around....or maybe you would

To prove the-saints point, the original poster hasnt been on since he/she posted their one and only post.

Is it just me you seem to have a problem with because I noticed that you had "borrowed" someone elses site? get over it

Let's go through main reasons why that could be.

Either, you're right. All new members should NEVER EVER make a post politely asking for some advice on something they're completely new to.

Or it could be, just possibly, the fact that she has been basically told, "NO!", by those that new members look up to on this forum.

If you actually tried using your brain you would see this member posted their message and then left and hasnt been back, meaning they wont have seen any replies to their post, so cant possibly feel "unwelcome", can they? Oops

Go and have a look at some of the recent introduction threads made tonight....the ones I have seen are all classic examples of the kind of things that should be posted and all have said they will have a look around the site.

Why is such a big deal with you? geez On second thought, don't answer coz I have better things to do. I'm busy painting a wall here and watching it dry is more fun

Voted by people who's opinions I respect and voted by people who obviouslt thought I had done something right during the year which wouldnt have happened if I abused every newbie as you seem to suggest.

Geez, have never known someone throw their teddy out the pram so much just coz he got busted stealing someone elses site and didnt even change the exceem links to his own, lol.

This thread should be closed as I'm losing the will to live now
