Freebiejeebies IP Policy

Can a mod please sticky this?

We thought we'd take this opportunity to clarify our position on IP addresses as there seems to have been a few threads recently. We no longer put people permanently on hold for having the same IP address (if this is the only problem with the account), what we do now is if one of your referrals has the same IP address as you we remove them from your account so you will never receive credit for someone signing up from same IP address. Also, if they have done the same offer as you at the same IP address this will affect your own offer credit. This is to protect us against non payment from our advertisers and we will make no exceptions to this rule.

Thanks
Richard & Alex

Re: Freebiejeebies IP Policy

Hi i just read something on another thread here

http://www.exceem.co.uk/forums/how-g...referring.html

which says that even if you just LOG-IN to your account to check how it's going at a different IP address then that could lead to your account being frozen if that other IP becomes one of your referrals.

This is a bit worrying as i don't remember reading about this in the T's and C's of FreebieJeebies and was wondering if you do implement this.
I completely understand the condition of not having 2 accounts REGISTERED at the same IP but for example the other night i logged on to check my referrals at a friend's house and i don't know whether he may or may not decide to join in in the future. Would this affect me?

Re: Freebiejeebies IP Policy

Hi, just to confirm - for all FJ sites, checking your account on a computer that is being used by another FJ sign-up will not cause your account to be placed on hold. On FJ sites, shared IP addresses is an issue only when you register an account, and when you sign up to an offer.

Hi there, I tried to sign into my account today at uni, to check the status of the offer i completed last night, and it wouldn't let me log in. It now says that my log in details are invalid, regardless of where I try to log in from??

Re: Freebiejeebies IP Policy

I have a question close to this subject.

I have recommended a certain offer specifically to sign up for on FJ, is this wrong if many of my referrals are using the same offer.

Of course the information entered in the offer will be different every time, but I thought I read something about this that might be a problem?

Help?

Ok awesome I actually already have about 10 people who are going to sign up. Should I open a support ticket to notify them that I am recommending a certain offer to all of them?

There's no need to do that; we would only treat it as suspicious if there were other problems that flagged it up to us such other breaches in our T&C.

Re: Freebiejeebies IP Policy

I have a family member who wants to sign up for me, but they have one of them internet connections where you plug it into the USB port and can access the internet anywhere.
Are one of these not allowed? If they had their laptop at my house would their IP address change to my IP address?
