Cancel account?

can u cancel a freebiejeebies account?
i did a trade for someone who has now been banned and not coughing up and i don't see why they should benefit from it! doesn't matter if u can't but i'm rather annoyed that i'm losing out.

Jay86 - we can do better than that, if you provide me details in a pm of the trade then i'll contact the person in question for an explanation and if none is forthcoming then i'll remove you as one of their referrals but let you keep your account, and the user will go on hold.

hmmmm.. I would have thought that networks would prefer to stay impartial in situations like this. I fail to see any justification in a site putting them on hold.. what reason would you give? (or is there not one needed.. where in the t&c does it say about 'you must adhere to completely independent trades carried out outside of the site'


And why ask every network to cancel an account?!? I am sure if you find the local milkmans number you can stop them from getting their daily pinta...

..take a deep breath and calm down!! I cant see how you are asking 2 seperate sites to cancel somebodies account... did you do 2 seperate trades, this is starting to look a bit like a vendetta (and I dont mean those yummy icecream pudding things)

maybe it was the same person did the trade for 2 sites and hes banned. and i dont think the guy should have his account put on hold, but maybe remove jay as a referral.

people will be to afraid to trade if sites start being judge jury and hangman with issues like this.. yes, sites can do what they like, that is perfectly clear, but this will really be a turning point if it goes as per the original reply.

Users do have the right to remove their referral link from the person who referred them, especially in cases when they did not realise they were being referred.

However this would not justify placing a user on hold.... As its only a minor offense.

oops- didn't mean to open a can of worms
i'm not asking for the person who referred me to have their account cancelled- i just don't want to be a a referral for them as i was ripped off. the reason i'm asking for my account to be cancelled on 2 sites as because it was a "double" trade.

I apologise for my earlier post, it was made in haste on my way out the door and i hadn't really thought it through, I will remove you as a referral for that person but not put their account on hold.

(To go into my hasty thinking behind it, I thought to myself that if a user knows that by scamming another user out of a trade then their account could be put on hold then it might deter the scammers from trying it on, but i take on board the points raised)

although I agree with your reasoning 100% It might actually deter scammers, but if somebody has a genuine reason for not going through with a trade, for example legitimately not being able to do an offer... is shouldnt be up to the sites themselves to police these situations... I am even a bit dubious about exceems inerventions.. banning a person merely removes an avenue of communication.

It was a badly worded post to be honest, I was going to look at the whole situation (i.e. have i had complaints about this particular user before) and I agree that if someone has a legitimate reason for not going through with a trade then there is no way I would ever put them on hold - but where a user offers cash for the green, the user turns green and they don't pay up - I do find that offensive to be honest.

I think sometimes it is needed though. I agree that in some cases, people don't complete a trade for an honest reason, and those of us on the other side of such a trade should try and be sympathetic. However, when someone just 'vanishes' after they get their green, it's really not on, and someone has to implement a punishment or everyone would get scammed on a regular basis and the system would break down.


There should definately be concrete evidence provided 1st though-no way should people just be able to email the network and ask for someone to be banned!

you know what i agree with moviedrome's first reply, if a member is scammer other uses then im sure as hell if i was a site owner id close his account.
if it was an offer he had scammed then his account would go on hold,so why should good honest people not be treated with the same rules ?
not having a go at anyone these are 100% just my thoughts....
