W-8 Forms for International Users

Quote:
I know you guys are going to be angry when you hear about this but I was recently told that now I not only have to collect a W-9 (or W-8 for international users) for single gifts over $600, but now I need to collect one if the total value of all the gifts sent is over $600. If you have received over $600 in gifts and have not sent a W-9 when you login you will be have to submit one before continuing any of our sites. However, to make it easier for you we have gotten the authorization to use online W-9 signing meaning you only have to enter the info online (we have bought a SSL certificate so your information is safe when submitted, and it is NOT stored online so hackers cannot steal it) instead of going through the hassle of sending the actual form in or scanning us a copy. Sorry guys, but I just recently was told that I have to do this by my accountant.
This was posted by Peter, the owner of free4me on Anything4free yesterday.

The W 8 form hasn't been put online for international users yet, but should be on soon.

Re: W-8 Forms for International Users

so in short what does this mean? that if we have received more than $600 dollars worth of goods from all free4me sites, we have to send a W-8 form?

They have put the form online, so you can fill in the details on your account, you will have to fill it in if you have received more than $600 worth of stuff before you can get into your account.

I just ignored those, as they dont apply, in all I only really had to fill in my name, address etc. and the other bits about me being an individual etc.

The form comes up automatically once you have received gifts over $600 in value.
