Below is some information regarding the popular 'Which?' offer:

We have found that many users are recommending their referrals to cancel the trial after only a few days. We would like to reiterate that this is not acceptable, and is likely to result in credits being removed.

In order to ensure the long-term availability of this offer, we are requesting that users stay on past the trial period. Not doing so may result in your credit being reversed by Which?, and the account status therefore returned to 'yellow'. With this in mind, please do not tell your referrals that it is acceptable to cancel the offer immediately after signing up, as it is extremely likely that the credit will be removed.

Which? will be returning to our sites in the next few days, however we ask that you follow the guidelines laid out above. Not doing so could result in the loss of Which? as an offer, and also the loss of your referrals' credits.

Doesn't that defeat the idea of a Free Trial?
If you have to stay past the Trial Period (& therefore pay) to get Credit.

For myself, I tried it (repeatedly) & stayed the full 30 days but cancelled within the Trial period. (Day 29 to be exact)
Does that mean my Credit will be reversed?

If I misunderstood something, I apologise but I just want to be clear.

I kinda agree with Rawphoenix - it really shoundt be advertised as a free trial if you cant cancel before the trial ends. It should just be called Which offer (which happens to have a free month)

Free trials are the reason people sign up in the first place (on freebie sites or otherwise) BECAUSE they have the option to cancel. Surely Which? know this!

They make their money when people either like the service, or forget to cancel.

If not then this is worse than Lovefilm!! Surely not...

Hi Roger,

What we've been seeing is members telling their referrals to cancel the trial. While this is a free trial, please do not recommend users to cancel it. If members find the offer helpful, then there isn't any reason why they shouldn't continue, and at only £4.75 a month for the first three months, it really is a bargain!

Basically, please don't recommend cancelling the trial, and everything should be OK. Continuing past the trial period is beneficial to the members as well, especially considering the low cost of the offer.

I understand that but concerned that my Credit & others who legitimately tried the Trial but didn't like it or found it didn't really apply to them might end up Reversed simply because we cancelled within the Trial period (& I'm not talking a few days here - I mean a proper trial).

I don't condone telling people to cancel Trials without trying offer (especially after just a couple of days). As you said, who wants another LOVEFiLM farce?

Yep like beezer said you can't say stuff like that here or you end up in trouble! I made the same mistake aswell when i first joined

what i am trying to ask is: if you refer people to carry out the Which 'free' trial, will they start to get charged directly after a month or do they get an e-mail or something to so they can cancel if they so wish to.

i'm just thinking that i signed up to the Lovefilm 'free' trial and I haven't even had it a month yet and I was charged £14.99 for the 'free' trial. just don't want to be lying to my referrals that's all.

I havn't done it but I assume it automatically charges as soon as the paying subscription starts as Lovefilm does.

You are correct.
As with most of these online offers (at least ones I've experienced to date), charges begin once the Free Trial period expires.
This is usually stated in the T & C's when you sign up originally...

One of my mates is complaining that Which? is no longer available on ForFree4U. I checked my old account and although the narrative is there for the offer, there is no image/link.

I can't access WiiForFree here at work, is that affected as well?

Thanks guys, it's probably just our oversensitive browsing filter here at work.

The filter is so good that it lets me get on ForFree4U but blocks the offers as shopping/gambling, refuses access to WiiForFree on the grounds that is a gaming site and (this has got to be the best), denies access to Freelclickz because that contains "questionable/illegal material". LOL
