Downtime update

Hi everyone,

First off, apologies for my lack of activity on eXceem recently. I'm in the middle of exam season, and it's been hard to find a spare minute!

Our web host last night experienced a malicious attack on an unprecedented scale, and all of our websites are down as a result. They expect to have things resolved and working in the next 36 hours or so.

Very little information is being released at the moment, but we are monitoring the situation and I will post any updates as and when we have them.

Hopefully everything should be back up and working again soon.

Thanks, FJ are in the same boat so I guess the updates from your data center will be the same.

Yep, the updates should be similar.

We've redirected our DNS temporarily to allow email activity, so you won't be able to connect to any of the sites, but we'll switch them back as soon as the server is back online.

Just an update: our server is being evaluated now, and so we should know about any data loss and ETA in a few hours.

What we're now hearing isn't as optimistic as we'd first hoped. We're currently in discussions with our web host to see how we can proceed from here, and are evaluating various options.

I'll update when I have more details.

The information we're being given is still rather sketchy and contradictory, but the latest we've heard is that they'll be trying over the weekend to recover the most recent backup.

Sorry to hear that mate - keep pushing them - i had to annoy Rus on msn in the end until he finally agreed to answer my ticket with anything other than a copy paste

good news!

i think before the crash i got a surge of 16 greens on efree.be....so if they get lost somehow maybe they can be manually creditted....

understanding how frustrating this must be for you, so hope it gets sorted soon!

Freebiejeebies and Kudosnetwork are the way to go, both have excellent support + ratios.

Could I ask you to stop with the negative comments with sites that don't concern you. While you may have a problem with forfree4u, by the way all your posts are written, there's no need to keep posting just to say something negative which is totally uncalled for.
