Be careful with trades

Some users are flouting the basics of trading on this site and you need to make sure everything is clear with your proposed trader before going ahead.

Many users are now waiting for one trader to go green before even signing up on your own link, this is against everything Exceem used to be about but i am not so sure nowadays.
When you allow this practice to go on, it means the one who is getting that green first could easily be completing their offer and signing up to your link without actually doing an offer and you are none the wiser. By the time it comes to starting a trade dispute that user is probably long gone along with thier free gift

Maybe it is just me being unlucky with trades or are other people experiencing the same thing now?

I've made 3 trades and they all went well, although with two I was getting greens for cash.

I have done a couple that went fine but I have had one which the other party really hassled me about when my offer I completed did not go green the same day. ( sgc1000000 ) and they did not even bother signing up to my link. By the time I had put in a dispute it was to late and I never even heard back about the dispute. But in all the others went very smooth.

I'm not being funny, but you never do. I've been hit by a scammer before who was trading on one FJ account with about 5 other exceem members, so were all being scammed. Jon contacted FJ and the greens he had received were removed from his account, and that's all good but those greens actually cost me/other members money - for nothing.

exceems trading rules are that if the trade is a green for green, both traders should sign up at the same time. This is something that should be made clear and agreed before traders agree to "trade"

exceem does not allow the practice of a trader waiting til the other trader has gone green before signing up but we have to be made aware that this is happening at the time so we can take action if needed.

I think that people should use the feedback tool more often. I've given feedback to people I've traded with.

The most we can do though is actually stop those people benefiting from your green. How can we get you your money back? We've introduced the register, be a member for 5 days and make at least 5 days thing. I personally check every request and if there's anything suspicious I don't give them access. The problem is that if people complete one or two trades with no problem then scam every trader thereafter there's not much we can do other than stop the scammer benefiting and ban the member concerned.

This may seem harsh but in some ways you're lucky that we have such a good relationship with fj that we can stop people benefiting from your greens, if you were to swap links anywhere else this wouldn't happen, it would be sorry it's your loss!

That is the best thing, i don;t mind losing out on a green as long as the one who has scammed does not profit from it. At least with Exceem you know this is the case and in the odd rare case you get a free green like i did on one of my first offers.

I feel like I should reply to this post so that things can be cleared up. I am the member in question to which some wrongdoing has been alleged. I agreed to do a G4G trade on the condition that the member complete their offer first and do an offer that would credit instantly so that I could do my offer that same day. This was mentioned on the trades page and via PM.

I am more than willing to complete the member's offer but despite claiming to have completed an offer, their status has not changed within 24 hours. Apparently Richard from FJ claims that this can take 48hours to go green and as soon as it does, I will complete my offer. I am not a scammer, I have been registered here from 2005 and I do not intend on going anywhere. I am just wary that I will be out because the offer status is still "not completed". The member can wait the 24 hours and there is nothing to worry about if he has completed the offer.

So everyone - please relax. I will be here tomorrow and I will complete my offer as soon as the other member's goes through. If it does not go through, I don't think anyone can blame me for not doing my offer.

Best Regards,
Adam

exceems rules though state that the two people should go green at the same time though. If it was different sites, you would probably have had to sign up and go green first due to having the lower feedback score.

"You" agreed to this condition but it doesnt look like the other person did. Hopefully it will be sorted amicably.

I have also been scammed by sgc1000000 where I completed the AA offer for them and they then did nothing back for me.

I reported it twice, yet nothing was done, and this person is still trading now! It's very disapointing.

Maybe eXceem should name and shame the scammers in a fixed post so people can check on who their trading with before they get scammed.

I think eXceem has a scammers section of the Trades forum but yeah I agree, it wouldn't hurt to have it pinned somewhere a bit more prominent.

I think that it is very wrong that you "have such a good relationship with fj that we can stop people benefiting from your greens", I feel that this is a very dubious situation to be in, because at the end of the day FreebieJeebies still benefit from the green so why shouldn't the person who has had it completed, this is not in FJ's t&cs... 'we reserve the right to remove a green if Exceem feel that you have not completed a trade properly....'

Actually i tinhk you'll find he's permanently banned, isn't trading and I did everything I could regarding this trade and it was circumstances out of my control that meant nothing more could be done!

All that happens is the link between the 2 accounts is removed, often networks take further action but what they do beyond that is a business decision for them to make.

Because they're doing it as a gesture of goodwill not because they have to! Every man and his dog would come to them and say so and so scammed me I want my green back! I'm not bringing fj into it because it's down to them and other networks what they choose to do but they shouldn't HAVE to do anything what they do we very much appreciate!

The problem is that they started doing this as a favour to us, people started saying in public that they'd got a green out of it and it became an expected thing rather than a favour to us which in turn led to people contacting them directly saying they'd been scammed and wanting compensating rather than going through us. It's a nice thing for them to do but why should they have to. If they didn't have a presence on here do you really thinbk you'd be able to send in a support ticket saying "I signed up to XXX link in return for £10, didn't get it, so want a free green"... no you wouldn't!

I agree with Icks. FJ still get the money and don't have to pay for the gift, so they are benefitting from the scammers either way. It would be better if the victims got given the green that the scammer took from them...
