Doing some work on the software, which will mean that the trades system will be turned off for a few mins over the next couple of days, you should see a message saying that they have been turned off

Jon, I am trying to sign up to Gimme4free.co.uk at the moment as i am not yet allowed in the trade section of Exceem, do you know what is wrong with thier site,i have not been able to get in it all day?

I can't answer that as I have no control over gimmie4free, though I would suggest just wait and do some research until the 5 days are up.
