| iPod Nano 4GB | Incomplete TradesFor future reference & for my own peace of mind, what exactly are the guidelines for incompleted Trades? - ie; Offer has been made/accepted but then one or other party decides to ignore it & move on to something else. (Or maybe seen something better) I'm not talking about Trades where you discover you already belong to the site(s) on the Trade (genuine error - if you do alot Trading, I suppose errors can happen sometimes) or you/they discover offers differ from originally stated (as offers do change occasionally) The kind of thing this might apply to would be someone spamming Trades & getting accepted on more than one <--------(as a 'for instance') |

Far too many of my trades end up drifting into the abyss because people don't follow through on their word. Even worse when they are so new that you can't even pm them to chase it up. I'm not sure I even agree that there are genuine mistakes. How difficult is it for someone to check they can do the site BEFORE replying?

I do think some of the problems are people are not allowed to use pm's so forget about a trade, were as others are presented with a popup whenever a new reply has been added to a trade.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Incomplete TradesWhilst not having pm's might be seen as a nuisance, all that needs to be done is people to save a spoiler in their sig or write down somewhere the sectio they did a trade in! Since we've introduced the idea of not giving pm access to newbies, we've seen a reduction in the number of scammers etc as it's easier to keep track of people replying to more than one person with the same thing. We're trying to do daily checks now on the trading system so that hopefully we shouldn't miss any of these and any we do spot we ban them immediately eith permanently, or in the case of longstanding members who might have simply forgotten they'd agreed a trader perviously, given them a weeks ban as a warning. All we can do really is monitor trades as it's not possible to recognise a scammer until they've scammed unfortunately! Where you've agreed a trade with a newbie (who generally seem to be the ones scamming) if you're paying by paypal wait for them to go green before payment, and in the case of a green for green trade, both sign up to the site at the same time, and get a screen shot of the offer they'e done by email!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Incomplete TradesI guess there isn't an easy answer, it's just frustrating when you agree to trade, the trade get's closed and the other person then remembers they have "already done that site", or just doesn't get back to you again. You then have to go and open another trade and endure the whole process again. Maybe a temp ban is in order for anyone who agrees a trade and then doesn't complete within 48 hours.

![]() | Re: Incomplete TradesWell I can't do that yet, as I'm not sure that I have been scammed. Im both cases, the respondant made lots of posts up until the trade, and then none after. (They have definitely been on and checked the trade section, and saw my posts about doing theyre offer, they were in the "who's online" and theyre profiles showed that they have looked at the trade section. I'll give it a day before I announce who they are. |

![]() | Re: Incomplete Tradesthe problem i dont like about trading is that someone makes you a offer and you want to ask a question for instances what are the offers, then there is a pretty high chance that they will never go to that thread again. i also sometimes forget about checking in threads ive asked a question in. is there a feature where you get a pm when someone has responded to a offer you posted in? |
