| I was looking around for it, like on google, etc.. But there seems to be a good few differant versions. Is there one that is best for doing them?

| i would recomend gimp, its really easy to use and its free. if you are going to use it for professinoal use then i'd say photoshop is better, but if like me you are just starting out or doing it as a hobbie go for gimp. the header i created on the prevoius page was done on gimp. hope that helps

| Photoshop CS5 is the latest and great but also more expensive, there is gimp which is the free alternative which is fine to learn with.

  | @Sean101: Just one thing. You know, the gadgets section on your site on your homepage in the right sidebar, you've listed: iPod Shuffle - 2 refs, iPhone 4 - 25 refs, Canon Camera - 20 refs, but Kinect - 25 referrals!  It's just 7 greens.

| yep but am just a rookie, only had it a few weeks. if you want to do a vertical gradient just use the gradient tool, start at the top then drag it down also hold ctrl to get it at straight angle. if you cant do it i'll have a go for you if you want also what version of gimp do you have cause on mine its just one gradient tool

| It says "Gimp 2" on the icon name & says "Gimp 2.6" when its loading up.
