| Re: first eXceem graphics team challangeNot officially part of the graphics team, but ive had a go at a few:      Interested in learning how to use photoshop so these challenges should hopefully give me a opportunity to try new things...and hopefully someday i might be good enough to join! More coming soon...or are they just crap??  |

| Re: first eXceem graphics team challangeHey h2w - got to start somewhere! At least you're finding your way around photoshop, there's plenty who can't (including me! I got used to paint shop pro and now can't quite make the jump to photoshop )Stick with it - my tips are experimentation : spend some time playing with all of the different 2d effects that your graphics program is capable of to see what you can acheive - my first banner above was made using a 'swirl' effect applied to simple blocks of colour. inspiration : once you know what your graphics program is capable of, put some ideas together. I find it really helps if you can decide on a colour scheme or theme for your graphics from the start, rather than making it up ad hoc. composition : work out where the elements of your graphic will be best placed to maximise the impact of everything (photoshop etc are great for this - if you can get used to using layers then you can literally move everything around until you're satisifed!) Don't be disheartened and don't give up! I'm pretty competent with PSP now through simply persevering with messing about with it - so stick at it |
