Re: A time limit now? What next?

the thing is a time limit does help in terms of accounting and without such a limit its impossible for a company to know their true finincal status.

However i think time limits of 90days dont work, now if it was 6 months, which is a much fairer figure id be for it (though personally I dont like them, i can see why they are needed in terms of business)

I agree with Jon. 90 days is stupid. 6 months is agreeable.

I find it pathetic that someone from eurogiveaways has been online yet has not been able to comment on this matter.

Combined with s*** offers and referral rates this must be the one of the worst networks out their. STEER CLEAR of this ****e.

I know, we'll have to send a form once completed, just like Freepay. Waiting for months, in some cases 1/2 a year for something that should take at max 3 weeks.

It's a joke. Anyone reading this wanting to sign up to the worst network, sign up to this crap.

Re: A time limit now? What next?

Hello Everyone,

Just a quick statement. The time limit is in place for "version 1" users (That is, current users) because we have a brand new site and a brand new look and feel - with updated database and scripting, being launched in the next coming weeks. The new "version 2" accounts will not have a 90 day time limit on them. The limit is strictly in place for our protection, so that we have no obligation to support version 1 users for the lifetime of the user, as there is no way we can integrate both version 1 and version 2 accounts due to the enourmous differences in functionality.

We are still talking to our developers about the possiblity of being able to convert v1 users into v2 users, but there are technical difficulties associated with doing so, and as of yet, we have not found a solution. So we are presently playing it on the safe side by saying we are not able to support "old" accounts for more than 3 months from v2 launch.

Hopefully this clears up the issue somewhat -- expect a formal email for members soon.

Kind Regards,

The business model you are using is the epitome of viral marketing.
You should think twice before ditching your "71,000 Happy Members" that easily.
Do the aftermath... 71,000 Sad Members can have a significant impact on your reputation.

Eurogiveaways staff - can you confirm when this came in (and therefore when the expiry is for existing accounts). Also, will you give any extra time to those who are actively persuing the sites but not finished on time? Thanks.

Amanda and all, from what I can tell we're getting 90 days after the "v2" launch.
Still... this is a far cry from unlimited that I signed up for.

Re: A time limit now? What next?

all terms and conditions have a clause that they can be changed at any time, so legally yes, they can change it to what they want. (take a look at the news today with a insurance company rising the cost of policys by 40% for "boy racer" drivers...)

Re: A time limit now? What next?

Nobody doubts their reserved right to change their terms, it's more of an issue of customer satisfaction really.

Given their somewhat limited current growth I don't think they have the luxury to leave that many customers unhappy. They haven't spread so much so as to afford the negative WoM. In contrast to freepay....

It's like an ebay power-seller starting up. He needs his first hundred/thousand feedbacks to be ~100% positive before he can afford to make "mistakes".

In a nutshell: Do no do this, you will be sorry (*breaks pencil, ala Borat )

Re: A time limit now? What next?

I suppose thats a fair enough reason, if you are willing to allow those who have really pursued in completing the site and have a few greens to have an "extension". Can't help not being able to combine the 2 versions. But what about members like myself who have no referals but are green themselves, would they and those who have not greened themselves be able to signup for a new account on the new version?

I'm sorry but I've got to say that's a complete cop-out... I don't know your code or your coders but unless you're planning on completely changing your business model (i.e. away from being a 'free item' site) then your programmers will be able to convert old users to new users.

I work with databases and write applications every day and there is always a way to migrate data from one system to another. The only thing that would stop it being possible is if the new accounts required some information that the old accounts don't have - and even that is easy to get round by flagging the old accounts with a status flag saying "v1" and asking them to update their information when they next log in at which point you update their flag to say "v2" and don't pester them again.

I'm not saying this because I'm disgruntled or PO'd or anything like that. I am a member of Eurogiveaways but have given up pursuing free items for the moment.

I'd hope that if this 'policy' is enforced and v1 users are dumped after 90 days that they'd be allowed to re-register as v2 users if they wanted to...

Cheers,
Tez.

Re: A time limit now? What next?

should be anyone who has gained a green or done offer credit who should be able to complete the site with an extension...
Since i have done neither with eurogiveaways, i guess my accounts will be cancelled...
Another thing, if you are upgrading, and you can't combine "old" members and new ones, does that not mean people who have already been signed on to the old site would be able to complete your version 2 site?

Well, that didn't last too long now, did it?

I'm sorry to say this but this might as well be your fatal strategic mistake.
