| Mini Mac | The issue is it only takes a handful of jackasses looking for trouble to join in with a "peaceful protest" and turn it into a violent protest. We all witnessed what happened a few months ago in the UK, what set out as a peaceful protest turned into a week long battle, people injured, homes ruined and businesses destroyed. Of course the police are going to be there in force, they too have seen what has gone on elsewhere in the world. Olsen should never have been hit by a gas canister(?) but at the end of the day, we all make mistakes. The police out on the streets will be pumped on adrenaline, and this can cause you to make rash decisions. The moment things get put of hand within the crowds of protesters, that's when the police react, and rightly so,, it's their duty to stop things getting out of hand. Long rant, but my final summation is: - everyone has a right to protest - police presence is necessary - fight fire with fire
