That's not a good line to take on drugs.

Well come on! I'm 20 years old and have Hung around with people who have smoked since I was about 12. Many times I've been offered a smoke, but I can quite happily say I have NEVER smoked in my life.

If you don't want something, don't take it. Simples.

It's not as easy as that. Peer pressure is a big thing among many people. I'm happy that drugs aren't readily available. They're easily available as they are, but if they are readily available in shops then you will get a lot of addicts.

On the other hand sentences drug related are way too high. One of the many stupidities in our judicial system.

What like alcohol, nicotine and all the other drugs sold in Tesco that kill more people a year than cannabis?

I believe the government would legalise Cannabis if they thought for 1 min they could regulate and generate taxes from it.
But I think they have better things to **** up atm.

Yeh like that. I'm not saying Alcohol, Cigarettes are exempt from being thought of as bad. The more drugs readily available in shops mean more and more addiction though. And addiction to all the 3 drugs i'm naming are bad long term, and Alcohol especially in short term if you take a lot one night for example. Ironically alcohol is the most dangerous of all 3.

This is the proof that Cannabis has long term effects:

Does Marijuana Cause Brain Damage and Have Any Long Term Effects?

Usage of it a few times a day will change you regardless, due to the short term effects marijuana does to you. It will change you if you take in extortion. There is no way you can say it won't affect you in any way if you take a couple of spliffs a day for a couple of years.

I'm not saying everyone will be fine if they smoke, it's down to personalities of course. Yes the short term effects will affect you long term, but only in the sense that if you were blazed, you might forget some things that happened in that time period. So if you're stoned hard 24/7 then you're likely to forget, but if you stopped, after a week or so you'd feel normal again.

I actually agree :P Like I said before in this thread, legalization would be too much, if they were going to, then just start with decriminalization.

Oh really?

The DEA?s Top 10 ?Facts? on Marijuana Legalization

Scroll to fact one and read the paragraph. Especially this bit:

" Fierce marijuana criminalization laws haven’t stopped the United States from leading the world in lifetime marijuana use and open tolerance of cannabis coffeehouses in The Netherlands haven’t moved the Dutch from having half the lifetime use rates and one-third the young teen (<=15) use rates of cannabis as Americans. "

Also someone mentioned something about damage to the brain from using Cannabis, This is highly unlikely, The brain actually has receptors designed for THC! Whereas alcohol, caffeine and tobacco actually have effects on your synapses and neurons.

Yes exactly, we actually have a lock in our brains that's opened by the key, THC.
