I'd have to 'do a Tony Gordon' and get someone else to do the deed for me, I can't even kill spiders.

In theory i wonder if i would want to do it however no one knows what they are like inside until a moment like this actually happened. I would never want to kill anybody however obviously like us all on here i hope lol - Luckily the chances of this happening are as small as.

It depends massively on the circumstances doesn't it?? I mean if it was self defence - someone threatening to kill them then yes I would kill the person doing the threatening.

But the more interesting question I guess is would you kill an innocent thrid party if it meant that your loved one got to live? If your loved one needed a new liver for example would you kill a complete stranger to give them that liver (ignoring practical issues such as transplant lists etc) for example?? I don't know.

That's an interesting take on it. For some reason I don't think I would. Like if it's through illness or something then I would be more accepting of a loved ones death than if someone was to kill them, I have no idea why I guess it's just cause it'd be a natural death.

.... more interesting again if the family member's liver was damaged due to incessant drinking - ah, the plot thickens! ???

This just demonstrates how ridiculously circumstantial this question really is.

I expect for most people the answer is easy in that case.

And it's "were" not "was"!

You all deal out death so easy!

Think of the consequences of your actions on the rest of your own life. You would be living in turmoil. More than likely your life would break down if you had any sort of morals.

Kill or be killed? That's an easy question. But kill one human to save another, both who are innocent? Not so easy, IMO.

I have to dissagree. If i killed someone and knew in my mind that i had done it for a good reason, then I would be perfectly fine. I'm not a psychopath, but it really wouldn't bother me if it was justified.

this is difficult.
Letting someone die (i.e. a loved one) is completely different and on a different moral playing field than killing someone.
fortunatly for my family, i am dead selfish and my morality wavers, so i would kill to save a loved one

You're right, I don't know the answer to that one. But if it was to defend them from a threat then I think it's straightforward.
