Ye totally - im for ppl's freedom to do what makes them happy. The only thing i wud say is we shouldnt teach kids about homosexuality in schools. It's not going to stop gay kids having a hard time in school, and its not wise to teach young children they can choose their sexuality - i believe gay people are born gay and their seuality will eventually find them naturally.

Genetically you can't be born gay. It's against nature, so i don't think it should be legal. Saying that you can't help it isn't true, it is not a natural occurence.

Yes, it is possible to be born gay, as you can be born with the chromosomes of the opposite gender.

I'm just remembering some article in our science text books, about a girl (had tits and a vagina ) who looked at her cells under a microscope and found she had XY chromosomes, not XX.

She had like 2cm penis but it wasn't visible.

It was something like that

Wow, seriously? you think that's what counts as someone being born gay?

I'm totally with barcelonic on this one. I think being gay is just a natural occurrence that every few people will be. However I do believe it can be from both nature and nurture. I don't see how people can say it's unnatural, obviously it is for some.

I don't see why they're attracted to the same sex, but that's probs the same for them when they see that we're not, it's just not what they're into. I see no problem with that.

No, that was an example of someone being born with the chromosomes of someone of the opposite sex.

I think some people are getting confused between gender and sexual orientation

It is natural. People wouldn't choose to be gay with all of the negativity you get, why do you think it's so hard for some people to come out? If it was so hard, surely they'd then choose to be straight just to make things easier!

Today, I would hope to think that everyone would be accepting of it all. For me, as long as it's not pushed in my face (but it's the same with everything, including religion), I don't mind! As long as people are happy, then there shouldn't be a problem.

As for adoption, I don't yet think it would be right. It's still not widely accepted enough for this to happen. It could currently leading to bullying of the child etc.

I think gay people should be allowed to marry and should be allowed to adopt, but it should not be made easy to adopt.

I don't say this because I hate the idea, I say it because you gotta think of the kid. They have no choice and I wouldn't want to have a kid (if I was gay) getting bullied for having 2 dads or something.

You get gay animals in the wild, so that indicates it is completely natural.

I'm sorry, must be in a silly mood but the above literally made me laugh out loud... I'm not even going to ask if you've ever had it pushed in your face, but that brought up all kinds of images!

hmmm.. an interesting debate this one.

I also think it is quite funny that when people think of gays as parents they automatically presume 2 dads... and that somehow the children might catch 'gayness'!!

I have a fair few gay friends ranging from the 'you wouldnt know unless you knew' to the stereotypical screaming queens (who make Dale Winton look like Mike Tyson)

I have no problem at all with gay adoption, what children need is a stable home environment, most families these days are lacking a positive male role model, why can't a gay man fill that role??
