20GB or 60GB PlayStation 3?

Is there much difference between the two apart from disk space? and is there much point getting 60GB? or is it like the difference between Core Xbox 360 and the Fully Loaded one?

There is a huge difference unfortunately

With the 20GB PS3.....

No HDMI - meaning that you might not be able to play BluRay films as they will be encrypted by HDCP.

No Memory card slots

No WiFi

You cannot even upgrade it yourself if you wish....v v random move from Sony. Not even worth getting the 20GB tbh....but is it worth spending the £420+ (unless u get it free that is)

I know. It's rather a stupid move from sony. You should at least be able to buy the upgrade for it, like with xbox 360.
I will probably still get the ps3 (60gb) because I have had PS1 and PS2, and have a large back-catalogue of games.

you could get a top of the range xbox360 and a wii for the price of the ps3, words from xbox team, very clever if you ask me, i think xbox360 and wii are going to be the consoles to have

btw, if they are offering a gift voucher, I recommend goin for the 20GB as the price difference is approx 50-60 quid and not worth the extra 6 refs tbh

But how can you be so sure that FreebieFreebie will exist by the time it comes out? Bit pessimistic from me but if I were you, I'll ask for a gift voucher/Paypal payment for the 20GB and run. If they only do Preorders, then yea, go for the 60GB but do not wait for them to get it in stock....

I think GAME are taking preorders but it's not the full amount....just a non returnable deposit. Can't you tell them to offer a gift voucher like what Freeclickz are doing?

The 20 Gig version might not even be available in the UK.
And as far as it not being upgradable, the only thing not upgradable on the 20GB version is the HDMI output.

I have one preordered from Japan, i'm hoping it will be cheaper from there, even once you include shipping. Plus there was no deposit and i can still say i dont want it. It is region free isn't it??? I think it is but just checking.

Only the games are region free (as far as I know) the movies I'm sure will still have region locks.
